Went from Bronze to Plat these past 2 months. A massive factor has been your content, especially these VODs where we can hear your train of thoughts and higher Elo thinking. I appreciate you and thank you for all your hard work!
Blissful knowing I have the next 3 hours full of tft content, absorbing all the knowledge. And then forgetting all of it and complain about how I forced the same as 3 other players
Love it that you chose my scrap vod i had better games forcing it but i thought submitting a bad game is better. Got 180lp from forcing scrap but lost it all and now im more flexible.
ty for the submission. Honestly i was thinking as i recorded the game that i shoulda checked your profile cuz i would have bet that you actually still climbed a lot with scrap cuz it's really that OP rn
Appreciate the review! I've only been playing just over a week so I usually force Rebels only as I am a slow learner, but saw it was contested so tried Scrap without any research and still not knowing which items are good / what combines to make what. I also thought all items/components counted for scrap shield, need to read more lol. My game was running off of 0 sleep and overwhelmed with items/comp so sorry for the messy game lol. Hit plat 4 75lp-ish today!
Why would you choose to submit this game you were running off of 0 sleep? What's the logic behind that. What do you learn from getting your vod reviewed when you're just gonna sit there and say oh I don't make those mistakes I was just tired. Surely if you wanted value from the view, you'd submit the most focused and try hard game.
@1:45:40 , the item option, I would go for adoptive helm and leave the belt. You will need belt for better tank item for Illaoi since she is the only tank pretty much, and Nash Tooth for Zoe BIS. Let's said eventually you would want other tank items than Adoptive Helm on Illaoi, the helm is still useful for Jinx to cast the bomb about 4 seconds earlier than she should.
@1:51:53 , when he sold that Ezreal, I could see why he is selling because he wants to save an item removal, and he has no item for Ezreal at this moment, 2 Star-ing Ezreal doesn't really do much. However, too early, and this comp requires a fast 9 and which requires econ augment or winning straight because pretty much you will lose 50 - 70 health in stage 4, so you would want as much power on your board as possible. If he has Zoe, then sure , because of the "little buddy", he would want Seth on the board instead of Ezreal later onThat Garen tho, bad call for sure.
I started tft a couple days ago, went from iron to silver 1 in about a week. Definitely going to send you a couple videos, probably as i climb the ladder haha. Also going to be good reference material anyway
Now at 2:27:52, the game that requires reroll Smeech. If this is not Viktor's galaxy, one very uncommon trick to do, is first scout to see whether there are other people contest Smeech, if no, I would rather hold the money once Ekko hits 2 Stars till like 5-1 or 4-6, but definitely before another player got beaten. The reason is when other players picks the cards out of the card pool, it actually increase the chance of you getting Smeech as well. I do this a lot for 2-cost reroll comb becuase nobody dies before stage 5, but Smeech reroll is risky because once player dies out, all his card went back to the pool and decrease the chance. On Viktor's Galaxy, you want to reroll as many times as you can to get 6 cost champion, even if you don't put it on your board, having it will decrease other people's chance significantly, so no wait , reroll every turn to 50.
I've been master rank for multiple sets but took a break for a few sets and ended up in bronze after my placements. Let me tell you it's so hard to wrap my head around the decisions players make in these ELOs so I appreciate that you are able to make content like this lol I had one game in silver where the portal gave everyone an artifact anvil and half of the lobby didn't open it for a few rounds. I had another one where the 8th place person with 10hp was holding 6 corkis hostage so I couldn't hit corki 2 but I was first place 70hp. Like why is he inting himself at his hp to grief the highest hp player lol
The Silver player played pretty good at his rank. The biggest mistake that punished him was the random roll, and not familiar with the comb so he skipped some of the valuable cards. Once he got these 2 major issue fixed, which is quite easy to learn. I could see him Gold, Plat, even Emerald soon.
Wish the diamond and emerald games weren't forcing comps based on augments. Felt more like a rebels and ambushers guide than a larger strategy guide for climbing
As an emerald player I have no trouble forcing a vertical comp, pivoting out of a weak board at 4-2 into something I can win with is what I struggle with
2:21:02 i dont quite get the talk about the scrap combo here is it ment as "changing to scrap is a good idea" or as " if you play ekko, powder might as well play throw scrap in for now"
in my opinion "At what cost" at Ekko Galaxy is very risky and worth less value since each augment is worth more than silver and gold augment that you don't get to pick. Also, there is an danger option of "Max Cap" which pretty much guarantee a bottom 4. I'd say is a pretty gamble augment for its value, if this has been a Warwick Galaxy and you have decent items for your comp and for Fast 9 or 2 - 3 cost re-roll, regardless the other two augments, I would say for sure. Otherwise, lv 3 to lv 6 +4 exp is 38 EXP total, that's 38 gold, includes the lost interest let's say you level 2-1, 2-5, that's additional 4 golds. Makes this augment worth 42 gold at the risk of not get to pick two other augments.
Nice video! I just have one complaint though and that is your mic. suddenly is high volume suddenly its lower mid sentence. I cant find the perfect volume on my device. and that is a big problem in such a long video. great knowledge and teaching though!
I will defend the silver player's ambessa as them probably thinking the resistances from her emissary bonus complement the bruiser health bonus quite nicely
1:06:07 - you’re thinking too hard. He plays Elise b/c she has good items, is 2 star, and needed for 2 Bruiser imo. Takes a gold player to know one lol
I know you probably did it to try to keep the vid from being longer than it already is, but sometimes I wish you'd pause the game when you have a longer point to make. There were a few times that there were things happening in the game that you never talked about because you were still talking about the augment choice from a couple rounds ago. Overall super helpful though!
This my first set I played in and hit diamond 4 in 1 month from starting, now looking to hit that master, the last guy played awfully but I must say scrap is so easy to play that I force it sometimes too
At game 3, he landed a perfect trainer. Let's say he did not get the black rose emblem through the games, he could also easily planned Cassiopeia in the planner. get rip off Zyra, then at lv 8 , throw in a morgana, you could be 5 experiment 4 black rose 2 dominator 2 snipers and 2 visionary(useless tho) and at level 9, swap the morgana out and adds in 2 snipers makes it 3 black rose and 4 snipers to make it a dream team. On another token, if your trainer gives bad emblems, just play scrap instead to fit in 1 comb, because 3 emblems counts as 6 base components that's already big head start for scrap units.
It will be like (+1Black Rose, +1 Sniper, +1 Experiment Trainer), then (Urgot, Gankplank, Nunu, Cassioeia, Mundo, Elise, Twitch, and Morgana at lv8) ,then swap the Morgana out and adds in 2 random snipers (Cait best of course) at lv 9.
there is no one single diffrence u can easily state, ofc stuff like econ and flex and decision making tends to improve but everyone has his own strengts and weaknesses
80 games deep into TFT in a week, plat 4 already (never played it before, only autochess 5 or so years ago). Only thing stinking is my early game, any tips from the experienced lads? It's not like idk what to buy, it's more about how to not always lose streak or W/L/W/L, I just can't seem to ever get a strong early.
do the stage 2-1 exercise i talked about in the video where you just look up any pro player, look at their VoD and pause at the start of 2-1. pick the augment and then pause again and decide whether to level or not and what items to slam (if any). you can do like 10 of these in an hour and then your brain downloads the sparknotes of the early game that patch
Hey bunny! Do you also review masters games? Would love to send you one of my games to hear any insights, having trouble with that next push to high GM
I'm sorry BunnyMuffins but you need to rethink your scrap guide. Ekko IS the carry of the comp, the anomaly should be on him and it should be a mr & armor Aug. Check out Dishsoaps guide to it, every challenger player I watch agrees as well. Ekko 2 + Corki 1 > Ekko 1 + Corki 2. Also not taking the randuins Pris was genuinely insanity. The Gold player hurt my brain. To add to this. You say ionic spark does nothing for the comp... The top 2 damage dealers are Ekko and Rumble, you really need to relearn scrap.
This is true, now a day Ekko is the carry for Scrap, two of the reasons are one, with powder, Ekko gets a free cri and cri dmg, that's like 1 extra item. Also, there are way less tanks building magic resist so AP hurts, also agreed Ionic spark is almost a BIS for Ekko. Ionic spark + tear (to fist of justice) + 1 random AP item or even tanky item
I usually have way better decision making than that player in Plat, as a P2 my self, but I very often lose games while I hit good boards. I feel like sometimes my hand slips a bit at the roll down so I would like some advice for what could I do to improve.
Be sure you're using the team planner. Don't be afraid to start your roll down a round early if you're worried about time. Yeah, you'll miss out on a bit of gold, but it doesn't matter if you lose because you ran out of time to roll.
i watched the plat game while eating breakfast and then decided to play. i also got trainer golem and i remember that one emblem was for ambushers, i scouted and NO ONE had that emblem so i decided to go for ambushers only to find out in the middle of the game that 3 other players were forcing ambushers 🙃 i managed to hit jinx 2 but two other players had ekko 2* and i had 2 single copies of him while he was the one with animaly... i also didnt have the best items for jinx cause i didnt expect to hit her and i prioritized ekko. i managed to finish 4th but god do i hate that ambessa encounter... my worst games are always with this edit: at least that game promoted me to plat 1 and not only this is my first time in plat ever but even going for emerald!
can i send you games where i was placed 7th or 8th and you review them for me? I feel like i am making really big mistakes somewhere and i dont really know where im hard stuck emerald :l
Diamond game; I think the comp is syrong but loot explo with no slam like hoj early is kinda silly imo (gm peak, dbl up chally), if he likes the comp a lot even then its kinda odd cause for me atlst, I really don't like loot early if I am not 100% sure I stomp all stage 2. I like sorc myself, rod cloak is not a bad early sorc with amumu pair. But from here, woulda scouted for zeri cause 1. He had amumu pair and guinsoo, 2. Its viktors and rr is nice esp since the comp can fit +1 well, 3. Its a strong comp even from a lose early Stage 4 edit: what the heck is that 1% jinx
my personal tips: 1. Learn abt lobby tempo & board strength. 2. Scout. Ideally you want uncontested comps, especially for rerolls. 3. You want to reach the appropriate level for rolling fast, and rolling even faster when contested. 4. Always build your board to the strongest. It's always good to win streak and if you don't streak, at least you lose less HP and might even survive 1/2 extra rounds. The only exception is when you're going for a loss streak or want to hit interest. 5. Its better to roll for multiple units of the same tier. But i guess this is common sense. In general its better to play fast 8/9 than reroll comps because: 1. You need less units (and sooner spike) for optimal board, e.g. 2x9 units for reroll vs 4x4 units for fast 8. 2. Your excess gold is easier to convert to strong boards (more & better units) instead of rerolling (no contribution to board strength unless hitting 3* units) 3. When you're not hitting the units you want, you could hit a random 2* for a temporary strength or even pivot. e.g. playing rebels but unintentionally have 2* elise before hitting illaoi, therefore maintaining a strong frontline. 4. You can hold extra copies of a unit to low roll the enemies, especially when contested 2/3 way. Compared to rerolls where you actually need the unit, you can resell them later. 5. When you're very ahead, you can roll 1 or 2 rounds earlier than your competitors. If you're uncontested, you can even sac a few round to get very early 9 and roll better. This maneuver isn't applicable in reroll comps. 6. 4 and 5 cost is usually more tolerable for non BIS items. Ultimately tff is about rng, but there are strategies to play around it. Fast level has several strategies to minimize low rolling compared to rerolls, but definitely harder to play.
So… my phone is listening. I just hit gold IV, and went “ok, now how the HELL do I get out of this, finally??” Might need to record a couple next patch and send them over. Playing in like 7 sets and can’t get out of gold.
2:11:27 actually MOST of the time if you take a trait augment, there is a specific unit waiting in your shop to match. Artilerist aug comes up 3-2, you can bet your bottom dollar that a Trist or Urgot will be in your shop.. its as consistent for me as a traffic light turning red after yellow.
When you tell people to play better you need to give examples of how and why they were wrong and what they shouldve done. Just felt like a 3 hour shit talk session with no value
was stuck in plat 1, and i sent riot a complaint ticket, seems like they switched off my rigged rank restriction and i immediately shoot up to diamond IV. Now, was at diamond III, and i just got 20 lose streak of bottom 4, back to diamond IV. Time to send another complaint ticket again. lol . this game is rigged for real.

2:11:27 actually MOST of the time if you take a trait augment, there is a specific unit waiting in your shop to match. Artilerist aug comes up 3-2, you can bet your bottom dollar that a Trist or Urgot will be in your shop.. its as consistent for me as a traffic light turning red after yellow.
dia game 5th
The scrap guy is clinically insane but I love him
When you tell people to play better you need to give examples of how and why they were wrong and what they shouldve done. Just felt like a 3 hour shit talk session with no value
? i gave specific other options to go for and why it's better
was stuck in plat 1, and i sent riot a complaint ticket, seems like they switched off my rigged rank restriction and i immediately shoot up to diamond IV. Now, was at diamond III, and i just got 20 lose streak of bottom 4, back to diamond IV.
Time to send another complaint ticket again. lol . this game is rigged for real.
