I seem to remember that this wasn’t Simoncelli’s fault, after the race Bautista said he either hit the limiter or something like missed a gear change causing him to fractionally slow and be rear ended. Still, it didn’t stop the crowd from Blaming Simoncelli.

Everyone liked to blame SIC , he had balls, that's what racing takes , if you wan't to make it totally safe then there's no point competing, after all that's why these guy's get paid vast amounts of money, a few riders wimped out in the end and stopped racing, they know who they are, make it safe and get paid less, let those with big balls show you how it's done.

Bautista's bikes turned off in the middle of the corner, Simoncelli was behind. In assen rossi was already closing the corner, Marquez entered too late. Should have been to Rossi's side a couple of frames before, that would have been a classic bloackpass.

IIRC we found out later that Batista's engine seized going into the corner hence the crash with Simoncelli having no where to go. It was a shame for what was going to be an amazing last lap battle. I remember lots of people shitting on Simoncelli afterwards till the facts came out.

He was not a contender at that point, they did miss the wheel touch, at that moment everyone alive though Sic did something stupid to cause the crash, it's live commentary, shit happens quickly
