Amen, I was introduced to Jen today for my first time listening to this teaching. It was very encouraging convicting and challenging I’m very thankful for it.😊
7 Ways Out of Temptation (to Fight): 1. Disagree Charitably (assume the best in others) 2. Opt out of cancel culture (we can disagree w/o despising and passing judgement on another) 3. Confess your leaning (knowing there is room for grey matters) 4. Diagnose your role in correcting errors (Does it need to be said? By me? Right now?) 5. Diagnose your motive in correcting errors (righteousness or right?) 6. Be too busy to be quarrelsome (have too much serving to do that you don't have time to fight) 7. Pray more - about and for the person
Sobering to think that we own agency and will be called to give account for how we have or have not gently cared for those with whom we have most strongly disagreed in spiritual matters.
Not sure I understand the point or the lesson. Obviously we dont just make someone feel like an idiot, with a sacastic reponse . i try to avoid discussing secondary issues like child baptism, baptism, election, working on a sunday, yoga, secular music, holy spirit ..... obscure verses in the bible. But even Christianity 101 is an issue. repent and believe is now open to debate. " just believe " is all thats important to some. One guy from a gospal coalition church told me Christianity is not about final judgement! Thats just one interpretation. Do we just keep our thoughts to our selves and mouths shut to blatant error, watch someone fall into a pit. i got into trouble for wanting to discuss the imprtance of a six day creation to the local strict baptists. I did not actually have issue with it, it seemed an like a good topic to discuss over coffee and the weather.
