I live in Ct and sell on Ebay only packaging from my house. I'm wondering can I get a wyoming LLC because of the anonymity with it not being posted on the secretary of state , and do my simple online business with it and pay state taxes in Ct on my schedule C without having to register that wyoming LLC in Ct?
If a Wyoming LLC is registered to conduct a business but the principal place of business is in the state of Connecticut, the Wyoming LLC will have to register in Connecticut as a foreign LLC. The registration form requires the name and mailing address of the party filing the registration form and the name, business address and residential address of at least one member (owner). No P.O. boxes; must be physical addresses.
In Connecticut, there are no legal prohibitions against using a home address as a business address. But since business addresses become public information, it means that the home address can be discovered by anyone. That’s not such a good thing because it compromises privacy and it may also violate zoning regulations. Moreover, it might negate the legal protections the business has (if it has limited liability), by making it appear that the business is not really separate from the owner’s personal dealings.
