Traditional American sedans need to be full-size with a V8 and RWD minimum. This render looks like a full-size sedan to me. If it does come out, I assume it’ll have a V8 and RWD just like the regular Mustang. It’ll make a perfect police car and taxi since it could replace the Crown Vic. Big American V8 sedans were dead since Dodge discontinued the previous Charger last December. But they may soon come back thanks to Ford’s idea. There could also be a Lincoln version of this sedan if it does come out. It can be a replacement for the Town Car. But there’s a catch. Biden is tightening emissions regulations which is prompting people to criticize him. If Trump becomes president again, car manufacturers could easily offer exactly what their customers are demanding. After that, hopefully the next president wouldn’t be so strict. Finally, if the 4-door Mustang does come out, it’ll be practically identical to the Falcon which was discontinued in 2016 and sold exclusively in Australia and New Zealand. Like the Crown Vic, the Falcon was a popular local police car and taxi model.
lol Taxi companies are never going back to a RWD v8 platform. Think about the fuel cost ? Cabs have largely become mostly hybrid or smaller displacement vehicles. They would not go back to something so expensive to operate. They will however make a killing selling these as police cars.
@@Eric_Bassett Taxis can use the EcoBoost instead. I never directly said a taxi should use the V8. In fact, Ford has just further considered a 4-door sedan variant. As a result, it looks very promising to become a reality soon.
@@anonymous3738 The eco boost is not as reliable as the engines in the Japanese cars that taxi companies have come to favor. I mean how many dodge charger cabs did you see ? This thing is gonna be more expensive than whatever cab companies are using now and without that 5.0 under the hood.. the eco boost is not known as a hassle free 300k mile engine. The turbos go out and cost thousands to fix, along with a line of other issues. Makes more sense to stick with the corollas. Camrys, and rav 4s that they are using now. The sportiness of the mustang is not needed in a cab. That’s why you don’t see to many charger taxis, it’s just ultimately more expensive to operate and less reliable than what the Japanese are offering.

I am taller, I prefer a sedan OVER a 2 seater Mustang with that wanna be ... Back seat ... with no leg room in the back seat, from where I stand, NOT ACTUALLY A SEAT, but just a padded area for luggage, or groceries ... Ford definitely has an opening in the market to do this. Dodge trying to go electric either these chargers and challengers gives ford a wide open door to slam a v8 in a 4 door car and sell like hot cakes. Especially a well built engine like a coyote. No CVT, v8, 4 doors…I think it would be a really smart play.

Muscle cars are traditionally a 2-door coupe but they can also be a 4-door sedan for those who want both performance and room for the family. Plus, Ford could make profits from police departments and taxi companies if they offer a full-size RWD 4-door sedan again.
