I pray for her healing! 🙏🏾 As Black women, we are targeted from all angles! We are hated so much because of our light! Stay vigilant! Keep your head on a swivel and your finger near the trigger!✊🏾
Walking today requires full attention now. Have friends with you and dont wear headphones. Our spaces that should be safe are not. Churches, buses, schools, movie theatres, homes, should all be safe spaces. Our children deserve so much more.
I don't disagree with you, but I didn't want to say anything that would make it seem as though I blamed the victim in any way. I think all women, especially black women, know to be cautious. Hell, we can be killed at work. I hear what you're saying, but I just think that the messaging should be more hyper vigilance on the woman's end, but men addressing their issues so that we can walk to a store without being burned alive.
I don’t know the motives behind this attack, but dang if day by day the US isn’t edging further toward the talibanian treatment of women. All they need to do is put out a tRump-branded golden burka and the magats would be all over it. Black women have been in “look out for yourself and each other” territory for…well forever, but the stakes couldn’t be any higher right now.
@@WokeGardeneri see your point, its not to imply shes at fault. That kind of danger and violence shouldnt even exist in our society and its going to require massive unity and positive changes to restructure this nations priorities and create safety.Gun violence is now the #1 killer of children. And these recent burnings are disturbing. But I do apologize if i made it sound like we have to " walk" different. Its unfair to ask more of innocent people just going about their business.
I was just listening to another young lady that had numerous surgeries as a result of DV which ended with her being set afire. She said that was the final DV event that freed her. Imagine that… I can’t fathom the pain she has to live with and the nightmare she endured. I wish our young people respected life and loved themselves more. Praying for Ashanti Downey 💔🙏🏾❤️🩹
I agree. If I were a young mother, I would treat therapy visits with the same level of importance that I would pediatric visits. It's THAT necessary nowadays.
Apparently, Ms. Downey’s assailant was her boyfriend who she lived with. This is horrific. Yes, we work to stand up for and defend Black women and children first!
That sorry POS. I couldn't even think of doing that to someone I'm supposed to love. I have two daughters and if someone did that to one of my daughters, I would be in prison for putting them six feet under.
I pray Ms. Downey recovers & the Lord heals her in every way. I love your sense of fairness & your ability to articulate the nuances so that everyone can understand the topic. Absolutely love your content. Thank you so much.
So for Christmas my daughter purchased me another purse to store my pew pew. I think as Black women we have always had to be strategic when going out anywhere. 💔
That poor girl. I saw that story. I didn't bother to read it because I thought she didn't survive it. I am glad she did but man she will be scared mentally and physically for life.
@@WokeGardener That is why I thought she didnt survive because I read the NYC story first. So when I heard the girl in the south I skipped it thinking she died too. All we want to do is live in peace. We can't even have that amongst our own people.

My son was set on fire in April 2024. He is still in the hospital lost both legs. Fire is scary
I'm so sorry...the world has gone insane.🫂🙏🏾

She will. The lady who was set on fire in a NY subway car by a homeless man didn't survive, though. He's also in custody.

@elecktrastorm9916 A lot of our people are just damaged beyond repair, and those who can be repaired won't go get help.

So someone finally came forward with information?
This happened to her on Dec 16.
