What brass are you using? I know that the quality of brass plays a huge role with pressure. Also, the bigger magnum cartridges, you need a really slow power burn . I have a 338-RUM 26in barrel 28in with my 6 port muzzlebreak, and it's 11.5 lbs . It's a full coustom rifle. I am shooting now the 248gr at 3170 AVG velocity with an SD of 10 and an ES of 8 with no pressure signs whatsoever . I also have a 300-338-RUM improved version 40° sholder, 28in, 30+in with my 6-port muzzlebreak. It's 12.6 lbs rifle. Has very impressive, accuracy . I went with 300-RUM because it already has a greater power capacity than 338-RUM . Let's just say it's a beast . I have a little better velocity than the 338 Enabler. I shoot the 265gr at 3200+-FPS without hitting any pressure signs so far . My Dad and I love long-range hunting of any kind from varmints to moose. We are always looking to improve cartridges and/or necking them up or down. For instance, the 500 Jeffery necked it up to 284-cal called the 7mm Slayer. The 30-cal is called 300 werewolf, and the 338-cal is the 338 Wolverine and 375-cal. It's called the Mjolnir that are very impressive, and I'll leave it at that . When it comes to cartridges, big or small, we like them all . Keep up the great work, my friend. Hopefully, one day, we can get together to build us a couple of new rifles. God speed . God bless you and your family.God bless america 🇺🇸
I like everything about it except for the muzzle break, to each his own they’re just not for me , I do have a quick question on the J lock firing pin I always wondered what that little pin was sticking out on the side of the bolt shroud it got a J milled into that shroud is that how you can tell if it’s a J lock if so, I think I just learned something from your video
Jeff your video are awesome. I know you have to work on what comes in the shop but I'd like to see you do a blue print job on a custom 98 Mauser, I have watched your videos on the 03 Springfield and Winchester M70 CRF, I know they are similar to the 98 but not the same I'd like to see what you may do differently.
Very cool! Good job
