    The way Laura speaks, how she speaks, the way she puts the words together with such humanity is just very intellectual...

    Laura Dern said it perfectly! The balance of different tones is what I find so fascinating and engaging about the show.

    Incredible to watch artists absorb each other and metabolize what is being discussed in terms of how it informs their characters, in real time. Just so inspiring.

    When Meryl is staring and listening to Laura, I feel this subtext/non verbal cues for whatever is her next project she needs Laura Dern in it. Script for film or stage she’s ready to play ball with her again. Frankly it’s amazing how Meryl is rather kindred to all her ensembles in all of her projects.

    Tbh it's not just what we say to kids, but what we say or do to anyone throughout our life. Whether it's a kid, a teenager, an adult or an elderly person. Sometimes we don't realise how hurtful or damaging our actions can be toward other people and that can scar them for the rest of their life. And the same goes in reverse

    Laura Dern doesn't speak often, but when she does, her words carry wisdom far beyond the sum of the other actors' parts. Watch the 3-part series again. How does she have this gift?

    Laura describes a woman's vulnerability so perfect. I feel I am that kind of person. Open about my wounds and scars. I wear them on my face and in my eyes. At times unintentionally. Healing is a battle and it's ugly.

    Was Meryl saying it was wrong for Mary Louise to be blamed for Perry? In the show, it wasn't about blaming the mother/woman so much as blaming parenting (irrespective of whether from mother or father).

    • @EvaSofie
      @EvaSofie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She’s speaking about the bigger picture, that people tend to look for women to blame for the actions of men, like with Harvey Weinstein, Meryl herself (and other women) was being blamed more than the man himself.

    Women are so much more complicated, hence more interesting. Implementing a series featuring women is a more dynamic approach to Hollywood. I can also appreciate the eye contact throughout the video. In my experience, most people look at the most powerful or the person they feel closest to, hence alienating everyone else. Not in this case. Everyone was included.

    Good show. Pity, there is an ideological bias in between the lines - a subtle connection between Meryl Streep's Christianity and the meanness of her character... That's very unjust depictions of Christianity, but well... injustice is what our religion teaches us to face.
