    To think like God is to have love in your heart for everyone. It doesn't mean that you have to make them out to be nice when it's obvious that they are not, but to wish their good, despite any wrongdoing on their part. It's not that the wrongdoing (which is just an outward expression of a dead part in one's soul) has to be acquiesced with either, but a distinction has to be drawn, at least in one's mind, between the central person and the present state of their soul which may indeed be false, until with God's help it will be set right again.

    • @danielfromca
      @danielfromca 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haivrim העברים It seems that you might be interpreting the word love the same as like / approve / condone. Whether you like somebody else or not is hardly in your control. I agree with your understanding that to love is to wish somebody else’s ultimate good even if you find them repulsive. Moreover, you can hate somebody’s evil deeds (indeed you ought to have evil equally in yourself and others) without hating him, it’s a subtle difference but it means the world. So in that sense to love is not synonymous with approving or liking, but as you said, with wishing well to the other person just because they are a self, just as you are a self, which implies but not limited to applying the same standard to you both.
      כלומר אל תחבב את האחר בהכרח, אבל גם אם חטא לך, ואף אם לפי מידת הדין חייב בעונש, אל תשמח בסבלו ותאחל לו טוב, כמו שהיית מאחל לעצמך באותו המצב. ואם יבקש סליחה ואפילו אם לא, סלח לו בלבך, ותשאיר את יתר הטיפול לאלוהים (ולמערכת המשפט אם צריך).

    • @danielfromca
      @danielfromca 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haivrim העברים I don’t believe in the flood, but let’s take that case. I agree, if you want something destroyed you hate it. Now what did God wish to destroy? Their souls or their sins? Just because he loved them (wished their good) and hated their sins, he might have needed to take this extreme measure to rid their souls of sin and bring those people back to him. (I think the flood is a myth really though).

    • @danielfromca
      @danielfromca 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haivrim העברים if that’s true, an atheist who says party now until it’s too late has a got a point hasn’t he? It all comes to naught anyway no matter how you live. Nothing is very significant. Best to have fun while you can.
      If that’s true, btw, then God is more like a devil who hates. This conception of God is false in my eyes.

    • @danielfromca
      @danielfromca 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Haivrim העברים I'll leave you the last word after this comment. You said: " it’s death in the long run" - yes, but under your view it's death anyway. I agree that it's better to live unselfishly etc., but the reasoning you offer is that if you live like this it will ultimately be more utilitarian for you or for society. Well, somebody else might disagree what's utilitarian for them. And why care about commandments of a God who hates anyway?

It's applicable to anything worth pursuing..if you study the Bible and it has no effects on anyone else? I haven't studied, practiced, or know enough.

    I would have dozens of questions for you Rabbi and I hope that you will not be offended by me just asking those questions, just because you might hate to face the truth, or by some quotes from the Torah. For example: - It is written: -
    * "The will of the LORD alone is always carried out. Good and evil alike takes place at his command." (Lm. 3:37).
    Therefore, obviously, the destruction of the Second Temple was not any "accident", but it was the will of God, who only used Romans as his tool to carry out his will, don't you agree Rabbi?
    The question is, why God wanted his Temple, in which there was an empty room, considered to be God's presence among Jewish people, to be destroyed? The only conclusion can be, that God doesn't want to be among the Jewish people in Jerusalem any more.
    I know that it sounds terrible,but you know, that it is the bitter truth. And God, in order to prevent Jews to ever rebuild his Temple, allowed the Muslims to build their "Dome of the Rock" temple or sanctuary, on the very spot, where His Temple once stood, and also Al Aqsa Mosque, not far from it. This also happened only, because it was God's will, as NOTHING happens in this world against God's will, which He would be unable to stop and powerless to prevent from happening, right? On top of this, God also said to his people: -- "When you lift your hands in prayer, I will not look at you. No matter how much you will pray, I will not listen." (Isaiah, 1:15).
    Perhaps, instead of concentrating on "Chassidic Philosophy", you will try to find out WHY God wanted his Temple destroyed and never rebuild? I have many more questions to ask, but I doubt that you would want me to ask them, so perhaps you ask yourself, why the there was no Jewish state for 2000 years, or WHY that terrible Holocaust happened.

    In man and woman there is no good for only HaShem is good. To love mercy, stand for Justice and walk humbly with HaShem is a very decent way to start generating a mitzvah. The act of faith to seek the Almighty daily is the best way. Can one know HaShem in one day, 1 year, one generation? Never. To seek is to breath, to seek is to think, to seek is to beat like the heart... this means to never stop seeking. For instance sleep represents death or infinity. Even when the body sleeps, you continue to breath, (soul) think (dream) and beat (heart). So it is a continuous non-stop action. Hence love and a action go hand in hand. To love Hashem with all your heart, mind and soul. Faith leads to action, action generates the consciousness of HaShem in our temples. We become empty of ourselves but we begin to fill up with the light of Hope. And when we disappear, that is when HaShem is in the mist of our temples. And when He is in our mist, though we are not good, we can become generous... giving our time, our help, our voice, our strength, our support, our forgiveness, our acceptance, our defense, our sacrifice and ultimately our love. Baruch haba bashem Adonai...
