I am fairly new to your amazing channel! I do so enjoy your way of showing & explaining how to use them. I am 84 yrs old & still love to try new ideas. You & your patterns have a special way of giving us great new ideas. I have some of the patterns & your soft & stable. I am going to start with the mini boxes, as I got the received it a couple of days ago, & I need a place for my wonder clips & etc. Thank you & your people for all the time & energy you put into helping us find new things to try . I will be trying the mesh. I had never heard of the folded elastic, but it will be on my list too. Dee. Lodi ca

I can't wait each week until these videos are posted to You Tube as I am not a facebook user. Today my learning gem was how to use fold over elastic. I had just received my By Annie order which contained fold over elastic so this video was great. I have used mesh in the past but learned an excellent way to install zippers. So many things I want to make using By Annie patterns.

Thank you for describing how to use the mesh, it’s color fastness and directional stretch / grain, and how to sew in a zipper two ways. Also loved learning about the French seam for professional finish and durability. Thank you also for promoting our local quilt shops who have served us so well, especially during our Covid closures. They have continued to supply the products and service we need to keep us busy using our sewing skills to serve our families and communities.

I learned how to attach a zipper to mesh, and how to use fold over elastic. I will use these techniques when I make my running with stitches bag. I just recently discovered byAnnie when I bought this pattern and other items to support my local retail store (Sewing Center of Wesley Chapels) which is unfortunately closing their shop due to the COVID19 pandemic. It hit them really hard, and I'm extremely sadden that they are closing.

Hi Annie, do you have a video about how to make a gusset with mesh? I need to alter a zippered bag so it opens all the way, like a tray, versus just opening far enough to squeeze things in. And I want to make gusset for the sides, so things don’t fall out. (There was a gusset, but it doesn’t open nearly far enough, and it’s not stretchy.) Thx. 🌷

    • @PatternsByAnnie

We don't have a free tutorial for that specific feature, but we have several patterns that have gussets: Clam Up, Drop Zone, Hot & Heavy, and Out to Lunch 2.0. If you have any of these patterns, the steps for adding the gussets could be applied to other projects. I hope this helps!
