Maybe a pocket on the side Jodie, so K'ey has a place to store his treats lol. Let's see...where would you begin? You sure are talented so I'm betting you could do it. Some 2 by 4's put side by side or a wooden pallet, a couple of those egg crate foam mattress pads or pillows to fully cover the wood base and make it cushiony, somehow make some wooden legs you could paint or stain them, cover the foam in a durable fabric with a zipper to throw it in the washer when dirty lol. Or buy K'ey his own loves loveseat for the new house when you get it. Right, K'ey? Lol! Or, a toddler bed for K'ey! 😮

If you look online for a “chair and a half” it’s a much larger chair and they make a comparably sized ottoman as well (at least in the US) that would definitely fit Key better, but you may want to wait until you move to a larger house.

If a larger one doesn't exist, couldn't you get a second one just like the first and craft them together somehow? The one you have is already the perfect height. Just bind two into the perfect length too.
Could get one more and combine them together with ratchet strap for protection for Key ,so they don't separate and he falls. Happy,happy dog ! Alternate way to keep both together would be to sew a cover that would fit over both and probably look better.
