I don't think that's how it works. It copies the actual FOB so he would have had to be near woods to scan it meaning it probably got close to woods earlier in the day or week and made a copy of it.

I don't know how they do security in their office, but I would expect that everyone has a login for their computers. Even if they didn't lock all of their computers, usually the software to write the fobs would only be on one computer. The admin computer would at least be locked, so only authorized party's could create or replicate a fob. Not saying your theory isn't correct, but if it is correct then Syphus is at least getting help from the inside.

I know this is late. But there's a device often used in stolen car cases. They use a device and it pings any nearby fob and it will cause the fob to activate. Woods was the closest one so it explains how it was Woods.

Theory: Siphus purposefully chose to copy Woods’s FOB, knowing that Matt trusts him completely, in an attempt to split them in half and divide them, allowing him to temporarily become more anonymous

Theory: woods was the last person at the office so the thing that scans the fob he can just scan the door knob fob detector thingy and when he went in the back door to take the car he used something from the scanner to scan in. Kinda makes sense
I don't think that's how it works. It copies the actual FOB so he would have had to be near woods to scan it meaning it probably got close to woods earlier in the day or week and made a copy of it.

I don't know how they do security in their office, but I would expect that everyone has a login for their computers. Even if they didn't lock all of their computers, usually the software to write the fobs would only be on one computer. The admin computer would at least be locked, so only authorized party's could create or replicate a fob. Not saying your theory isn't correct, but if it is correct then Syphus is at least getting help from the inside.

I know this is late. But there's a device often used in stolen car cases. They use a device and it pings any nearby fob and it will cause the fob to activate. Woods was the closest one so it explains how it was Woods.
