I always thought that this wasn't a bad game just the story could've been better, Salem a bad guy was a big mistake and pissed off fans of the series, however I thought that the ending could've been like him in a high tech, prison and Rios would visit him over the course of some time, and way at the end Rios comes in and says, "Salem, I'm not sure if I can trust you, but I need you back." That would be the ending, setting up another game where they make up for the whole Salem being evil, and there'd be cameos of alpha and bravo and the other characters. The whole game would revolve around the concept of a broken trust that Salem has to regain, you can choose who to play as like all the games and the old weapon system of the first one would be back, giving fans a little nostalgia of the first game. The create your own mask system will be implemented just as the create your operative system would be introduced with a multilayer system that allows you to play as t.w.o or the bad guys who you could also customize as your own. The story of the game sees an older Clyde with a grudge on Salem and Rios from the first game, who somehow survived but has resurfaced as he helps out terrorist whom you'd have to take down asking questions, and it all would lead to the epic boss fight between Salem and Rios vs Clyde. This is of course a concept, one I'd play the hell out of, but it won't happen at all, and also a remaster looks like it will never come into play any time soon
Does anyone else hate that they killed off literally every single new character that this game introduces? All the members of TWO, fiona, even the mexican mayor. Probably could have used some of those characters in the sequel.
Charles I guess it's fitting because after the shit reception this game got I bet it's going to be hard to pitch another one Wouldn't mind them re doing the series
Salem was my favorite in the first one and I never played this one so see Salem as the bad guy really sucks for the franchise considering he was most likely the favorite character by most of the community
wow wtf they made salem look so stupid nd evil, it wouldve been awesome if salem helped them fight againtst the enemies nd regain thier trust together, man i miss the old team
It really sucks that they make Salem a bad guy, but it's even worse that they introduce new characters and kill them off almost immediately right when we begin to love them...
This game had so much potential but a few things went wrong. -Salem being the bad guy is not necessarily a bad move. It's the way he turned evil that didnt make sense. Like he ran away from a situation that was in control and DROVE OFF without the team and ended getting blown up and blames it on his team. That's extreme lazy writing. But what I did like was how he made the choice of Rios shooting him canon from 40th Day. It actually makes sense and I can roll with it. -They literally kill off EVERY SINGLE new character introduced to the series besides the characters you play as. No one is safe. First your whole cannon fodder of "elite" mercenaries. Then a few cartel LTs. And even the side all the side characters including Fiona and the mayor! This really draws back and severely limits the extent of the lore since they killed Alice and all the new people and don't even bring back any of the old ones, like the people who helped the original duo in AoT. Such as Cha Min-Soo and Section 8. This whole series is notorious for killing everyone who isn't a playable character. -Dialogue was kinda cringey -Characters' personalities are pretty annoying (especially Alpha's) But what I did love about this game was the customization, the fact you're fighting a cartel, and for the story wasnt actually bad, it just needed more work. I also loved seeing how TWO actually expanded and got to see how Rios runs admin for the organization and you get to play as the grunts on the ground, unlike the second game where you basically do ground work for your own company instead of running it
I keep asking that. Yeah the girl from the last game died(he had a thing with her), but what makes you want to destroy your legit billion dollar business with guys who are just brothers to the death. It makes no sense.
Salem was a pretty great bad guy even tho it sucked to see him as one, killed off the mayor and the female lead also a bunch of two agents, he was pretty legit for a villain
ndelta6xxx true, it would of been better with better motivation, like rogue TWO agents turning on Salem and making him believe he was betrayed, or something forcing him to kill TWO agent, not out of free will like a kid napped loved one
Not really. Salem was just pissed his friends left him to die and handle a cartel by himself. I'd be pissed of too. No matter what,Salem is still my favorite character.
Really? I saw it for $19.99 plus about $4 in shipping from GoHastings website a few weeks ago. It can be found for cheaper than normal price. Just have to wait a little bit for good deals.
No, he truly flipped at the end of the second game. Rios let his gf Alice die, then the final villain made a obvious bluff to Rios and Salem to blow up the city. Rios shot to kill Salem to stop villain. The girl in Devil's Cartel was just the straw that broke the camel's back
Man to me army of two's story ends with rios and Salem killing Jonah in the 40 day and going home, I can't stand the fact that they broke the relationship between them
The re-design choices for Salem and Rios was terrible. Salem looks like he has been addicted to drugs since he was 14 years old. Rios looks like he was raised on a dairy farm and by some magical power has regressed in age by 15 years. It's still a fun game to play but was a serious step backwards for the franchise. It's understandable why it's dead now. Lot's of bad choices.
As much as I like the idea of customizing masks, Alpha's mask is really too iconic to mess with. Also sadly there are no True Replicas of this mask on the market. The only thing that comes close is to make a custom one out of a welding mask. All those airsoft paintball ones are garbage and the don't flip
Nice video. I guess I'll have to play it again. I hate the story. It was just very weakly written. There were also a lot of continuity errors. Thanks for posting this though, it's a greta way to recap the game.
how did you get a dead space mask oh wait i know the bullshit of DLC'S witch i'd never get because they cost so must Microsoft points to download still cool though
very predictable storyline. This franchise has struggled since the start and having sequel/reboot told in a predictable structure doesnt help. I enjoyed the 40th day even though I could never finish a multiplayer match without being kicked off the servers but this games really has no soul.
While it susked that they traded Rios and Salem for unfunny versions of them, Alpha by the book kinda guy - Rios. Bravo more of a hothead - Salem, Evil Salem was the only reason I kept playing, considering how slow the controls/game felt and all the fun sucked out of it. Did however like being able to select new clothes and tatoos, not just masks.
I agree making evil sucked and was easily to see it was him in the trailers, but he was still better than the other series villians (if you can call them that).
yeah I finished the game with my brother a few years ago, it took forever so the option to kill the other was kinda stupid so we chose to shoot him. of course I went on youtube to see the other ending and it was basically a troll ending.
Right, even completing it on single-player after a co-op completion I never feel the reason to shoot my partner, other than for the trophy (worst excuse ever to kill a "Bro")
Salem felt betrayed by Rios for being left to die at the beginning of the game since the car he was in took an RPG and was left to burn, hence the scars, while trying to rescue a no-body (Fiona, the woman in the beginning and later who saves Alpha & Bravo.)and not listening to him "His brother"(Salem thought of Rios as a brother) to get out of there. Add to that the incedents in Shanghai during 40th day were they loose Alice, whom had been with them in the fist game, Salem holds Rios responsible, even tho they both go to take out the man in charge Jonah, he also says he took a bullet for Rios, which could reference one of the possible ends to 40th day in which Jonah says for one to shoot the other and he wont set a nuke/bomb? (can't remember which one) implying Rios possibly shot Salem and he survived instead of dying like in one of the original endings of 40th day. (After writing all that, I Can't wait for someone to correct me.)

they should use the weapon system of 40th day
That’s great too bad this series is dead
I love this idea I hate they made him evil as well

I love how Bautista looks like the bad guy from Battlefield Hardline
why do rios and salem look so weird now
it makes me mad they killed salem off he was my favorite guy 2 play
Man I hate that they killed off the relationship between Rios and Salem, those two were meant to be the legendary duo
i'd be pissed too if my own people didn't check to see if i was alive
This game had so much potential but a few things went wrong.

Salem as the bad guy that's why this game sucks
alfa: your a dead man Salem
I swear it
Salem:of course I am

That part got me too lmao
awesome short film,was nicely done
Can I question why the Salem prison scene at the end wasn't put in this ??? also good job with the editing
Even now Salem is still one of my favourite characters in a video game, I always preferred him over Rios

Terrible in sales. :(
The gameplay is good. But the story sucks. IF the story was like CoD or Deadspace, it would be a great game.
