In my opinion in the meridian edition they should have added the 360 camera. I got turbo premium plus over the meridian just because it had all the available options. It would have been nice if US version meridians were also the top trim just like the Canadian meridians.
The turbo premium is much like the premium plus minus a few features. The meridian is the base Turbo, with terracotta seats, 18" wheels with falcon a/t tires, choice of zircon sand metallic or polymetal grey color and "special meridian edition" only hood decals with the side garnish on the doors and splash guards on it. Some even have the special black trim around the headlights in front (but due to production and supply issues only early models have it). There's an apex package available for the meridian, which includes special black crossrails a shelf, and cargo holder.
In canada here, got the top trim cx-50 but not the Meridian as it asks 6k more for tires and stickers....it's insulting our intelligence. I only have two wishes for this vehicle, the first would be an after market mods for a better approach angle front bumper and departure angle rear bumper. The second would be that the vehicle came equipped with an optional rear E-locker 😅.
When the hybrid version of the Meridian arrives, I bet it will have the same sort of power outlets you can get with the RAV4. While I like the CX-50, I'd rather have another inch clearance on the bottom, a more friendly front clearance, and/or another inch or few inches taller height. Cameras are also good for obstacle avoidance in a vehicle, so this should have top camera options available. I'm waiting to see what the hybrid version of the CX-50 is like. If the mileage improves sufficiently, and there are no long wait times, that might be the car for me.
If you buy a Rav4.... and you're looking for the auto window wipers, you can get it on trims above XLE not as a standard but as part of a weather package for a extra cost. Gotta love Mazda... makes it standard across the lineup. If you watch all of Jonathan Sewell's cx-50 package videos, youll see it in every model going from the non turbo select, preferred plus, premium plus, turbo, turbo meridian (as you see in this one), turbo premium and turbo premium plus.

In my opinion Subaru Outback is better than Mazda CX 50 because 1.The 8.5 ground clearance of Subaru is better to avoid rubbing stones and objects underneath the car. 2.The approach angle of Subaru prevents hitting objects because its higher than that of Mazda. 3.And lastly, the design of Subaru is more beautiful and rugged looking, I think the Mazda copied its plastic padding in its new Mazda specs-Rufai
More beautiful? Nope. More reliable? Nope. More fun to drive? Nope. If you want more of a true off-roader.... Outback. Other than that, the Meridian is more satisfying in every way.
I like the Meridian Edition. But spending $42,625 (2024 MSRP including destination and required extra cost paint) and getting just the base audio system is a massive disappointment. I wish it was just a package that you can add to any trim, especially since it's just different wheels, tires, and cosmetics.
Forget the APEX bs...this is perfect AS IS--- especially since it does NOT have the BUT UGLY and STUPID 20" wheels with rubber bands wrapped around them... now if it DOESN"T have the moon roof BS (that's a leak waiting to happen)... the rEST is PERFECT!!!
Two years of service including oil changes and tire rotations is less than $400 if you change your oil 2x per year. But Toyota will only pay for your services every 10k miles, so maybe not even 2x per year.
I have a select trim. non turbo cloth with leather side seats. I think the non turbo will have longer life and less repair costs. Has plenty zoom zoom for me. I get 28 mpg easy. seats are very hard for my taste, added a gel cushion! The select trim is the best bang for the buck! the trims with 20 inch wheels don't ride as good and have more road noise.
@@RealKevGotEm Didn't notice anything different with brake pedal. I came from a Honda and it felt the same. I do have a GMC and the pedal is noticeably softer and I have to get used to that every time I drive it.
I had to get used to getting a little bit more aggressive with the accelerator compared to my RX 350 which had over 90 more horsepower, but the nonturbo is for the most part adequate. The Mazda’s harsh ride and too-firm seats are a put off, as well as the gun-slit windows and high belt line. The Subaru is just better to live with day to day.
Cx50 doesn't have a harsh ride, it feels more sporty with stiffer suspension but in my opinion it's not a harsh ride, seats are comfortable, i do have 2 hours commute to and from my job site and it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. It's just just subjective, some people complain about these things while many others have no issues. Like the infotainment and the knob which i love but it seems others hate it.
