I don't know what it is about these little dinky cars that I love so much. Just bought a used 2012 Fiat 500 with 80k miles on it. It's my first time learning to drive a manual transmission...and in the last week I've put a little bit over 600 miles on it. Every single time I get in the car I fall deeper and deeper in love with it. As I grow confidence in driving it, it's just becoming a blast to drive. It is everything I've been dreaming of. I've always wanted a tiny little car like this. I was looking into getting a Mini Cooper, but then when I saw a Fiat in person...damn...lol *_/LOVE_*
It helps that I'm also single though. It's the perfect size for 1 person lol. I also live in a small town without a lot of traffic and I don't travel much. So it just fits into my life so perfectly!
Just bought one. Fun little car. I don't know about the reviewers complaints about the shifting (um, okay) - I find the shifting to be smooth as butter. Absolutely loving this car.
@@MrKinghuman buddy go over 80mph and a good wind will tip this bad boy….good for this city I guess if you wanna look like a girl…why I got one for her 😂
I appreciate your honest reviews, which is sorely lacking in the industry. I believe most buyers in this class are influenced by cost and new car warranty, but better choices can be found elsewhere in the pre-owned market; unless the buyer needs or prefers a Micro class vehicle. Your assessment are accurate and useful. Thank you.
I had an original 500 which was a 2 cylinder engine! This was 1989 when I lived in Sicily. I'm seriously considering this as we've migrated to overpriced super large gas guzzlers. At 44 years old, with plenty of money to spend, why would I waste my hard earned money on an expensive vehicle which loses its value almost immediately. A car is a terrible investment, and this provides an excellent alternative.
Chris Kirkman Kirkman isn’t a Sicilian last name, how the hell you end up in Sicily. Military? Very cool though. AnywY, I couldn’t agree more. For a commuter car especially, this is a phenomenal choice. It’s a bit noisy, it’s a bit lacking in space, but it’s almost as good in gas as a Prius especially the five speed.
I boght one like one month ago, I love it , my daily driver use to be a Toyota sequoia so I really felt the difference especially when driving downtown..I still use the sequoia when I need to go out with my wife and kids though.
0-100km/h in 10 sec is awful? wat? The average family sedan, sw, hatchback nowadays usually stays around or above that mark. For small cars like this 500, it's a pretty good time.
A toyota camry does it in like 8 seconds. Volkswagen jetta in 8. A base engine jetta does it in 9.5, with an up-engine option that drops it to under 8 seconds. Chevrolet sonic under 9. Where are you getting "average family sedan is at or higher than 10 seconds"? If your point is that the Fiat is class competitive, then yes, you are correct. But it's definitely not punching above its class.
But those cars do not have "sport" in its name. If you are getting a sports version you'd expect it to be faster. However i do think 0-100km/h in 10s is plenty fast for this car.
Mines a 2014 I drive pretty hard and still get about 35mpg could get more if I drove easier only draw backs is alot of cabin noise but it's a small car so it's expected and one of my speakers is blown I'm hoping my warranty covers it as I just got the car and didn't really test the speakers before buying
Fantastic review thanks. I'm currently looking at a 500 Sport myself. The one I was looking at has the Bose stereo upgrade as well. Any comments on that setup as well? And you didn't touch on what the 'Sport' button did?
Good video I enjoy listening to you your review is fairly accurate however I think the sport model is a little too stiff in the suspension of course it depends on how you drive and what you’re driving over I found out the face model was very comfortable over the road potholes and bumps
only as far as size. technologically, the mitsu is really very far behind. the standard shift is OK to drive though. the mirage has a poorly designed rear suspension the rear end sways, almost twerks. try it. test drive one and you'll agree.

Fiat 500, lots of room if you take out the passenger seat, doesn't take long either, and if you do have a passenger, they can sit in the back seat with huge leg room.

The SUV have less grip. The security is not dependent on how the car is great. The off-road vehicles are more rigid and less deformed when striding, and much more dangerous. The powerful cars make them just for the American market. With the same power in Europe are much smaller displacements. Why pay for a big car? Why pay for a car that has a debt? Take a car that costs a lot and it consumes? The people then when they see you they say: look at that stupid that you feel a king just because he has a large car. Nobody says it but everyone thinks.
Hipster Styles no it doesn't it tightens up the suspension steering and pedal feel. Not more fuel equals more speed because that's not how engines work.
nick ndou it sends more torque to the engine.. There is a more aggressive acceleration to it. I have a 2013 sport and use the button for getting on the freeway
I Used to own one back In 2009-2012. The car looks great, both interior and exterior. But... It is an italian car. Which means reliability is very bad. Electrical issues espacially. Also the interior wears quickly. Much faster than other cars that iv'e owned.
steffen jacobsen I own 2008 - 1.3 Multijet Diesel with panorama roof and full equipment, Blu&Me. 110,000km so far, nothing wrong with it. Still looks like new but I take a really good care of my car. Only best oil, every 10,000km I change all the filters, heated garage, driving slowly on non-asphalt roads and such. I live in a city so this car is perfect for my needs. Also, Multijet is cheap to drive. All in all, I'm very happy with it.
WHAT.A.SHITTY. CAR! why THE HELL would anyone buy one of these?? 101 hp and 98 foot pounds of torque? jesus that torque is pathetic! my sonic turbo has 148, AND its more fuel efficient and a regular amount of space. Sonic= 0-60 in 7.8 secs not 12.. good lord that is horrible. slower then hybrids...
Why do you need all that power? The obsession with torque and HP in the automobile community is hilarious to me. Imagine if computers worked that way. Imagine if the government restricted computer speeds, so that most core i5 or i7 Intels could rarely ever use their full potential, but people still obsessed about having the fastest computer processor--well, that's where the car industry is at. Sports cars--fast cars that go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds--are all about bragging rights and getting laid, and less about actual utility.

100Hp in a tiny car is like 150 in a civic. I think this 500 has a very decent acceleration.
I thought I was the only one that thought this car was tippy! I have never seen anyone else admit that in a review. Excellent review!
duuuuuuuuude take it easy on that gear shifter ..

How is the space in total? Can someone below 6ft sit in the back seats?
lol, wrong car brother. Only small kids in the back of a 500.
Very happy with my 2013 Fiat 500 Sport.
Can u do a 2014 mazda cx-5 review with no manual please?
Where do you mount your camera that isn't looking at you? Sunroof? And how do you keep it steady and from making "shaking" noises the whole video?
I don't see why you'd need a 6th gear for a 3 cylinder car. My old 93' Toyota Tercel had only 4 speeds, and it sufficed.
