I don't find the romantic interests credible. First she falls in love with a brute that she has nothing in common with. Then she falls in love with her enemy - why? Long lustful leering at each other? One women on this island was hung because she consorted with the enemy. Nick Cage doesn't seem like an Italian Captain - and what with that salute and yelling "bella bambina" when he first saw her while his troop was marching - just weird - for a captain. Did she fall in love with his mandolin playing, I would have liked to see better playing or more emotional songs. Otherwise the acting, filming, and scenary was great.
You wouldn't believe it! I have a same Story with a girl. But not in the wonderful greece. In the beautifull brazil! And how Galaxis meet each other so too meet her again, Like Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz in this movie!

The only thing I dint like in this movie was the accent of Penelope...wasn't so Greek and the felling the Greek women are more dramatic...
