    great job, if you haven't yet, please flip that front 120mm fan around so it pulls air through the filtered front panel and blows cool air over the cpu intake fan

    Mini-ITX case building is always an adventure, but it's rewarding to see your wee machine spin to life at the end.

    Kudos to you building you first pc in an ITX form factor. I built my pc just a couple of weeks ago and took me half a day to fully finish it.

    So I've made a second video about temperature optimization on the SG13 and it worked well for me. At 6:52 your CPU is way too hot at 69°C idle with the fan at 2000rpm. Something went wrong there, maybe CPU paste not applied or the cooler is not really attached. 4.2GHz overclock might be too much as well but that shouldn't make a difference at idle temps.

    • @jcholol
      @jcholol  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for coming back to comment! ive gotten comments about how the CPU temp seems too high for idle state. it might be time to open it up and take a look...
      also i have no idea what the frequency is at 4.2GHz since I haven't touched it (changed it to overclock) at all. hmm...

      @panoramacircle3281 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jcholol You can download "AMD Ryzen Master" to check frequencies because other programs report wrong values for some reason. Try to open the chassis and see if the temps are going down, if not you have a problem with the fan mount itself, maybe not enough paste or forgotten to remove the protective sticker on the cooler plate. 2000rpm fan speed sounds really loud & windy, if that is reported correctly.

      @@panoramacircle3281 I can give it a try this weekend. my fans aren't loud at all so im not really sure if that's correct

    I just build a mitx with the same case on my channel and it seems we had similar challenges to overcome. BTW I will look into a way to increase airflow with a better fan and sealing the half-open wall between the main chamber and the smaller front chamber so that the fan has to suck in fresh air instead of just rotating it inside the case.

      @jcholol  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      good to know that others were facing similar challenges. let me know what you find out about fan and airflow optimization! :-)

    6:58 you can see that the CPU close to the max boost clock of 4200MHz. Could be the reason the high temp. Select Ryzen balanced power plan may help bring it down

    Keep UP the good work! I am buying the same ITX case and your video is helping me alot! I am your new subscriber 🤣
    Edit: Could you fit the case on a small backpack?

    • @jcholol
      @jcholol  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks !!! It seems like it would fit in my backpack, which is a standard sized North Face backpack. Not sure if you would be able to carry anything else though :o
      This case is not the smallest ITX case for sure, and I considered other smaller ones like
      - Dan Case A4-SFX
      - Nouvolo Steck
      -J-HACK Pure XL
      -Sparetex Osmi Case 3.1
      BUT really couldn't beat the price point of SilverStone SG13. It also looks really clean after I painted the whole thing white so I'm happy with my choice :-)

    Basic research before you do something lady. Putting so much thermal paste that it runs out the sides? Seriously? 😅 Lucky it didnt run into the socket and ruin the board.
