- Matthew Most of Sarpamitra is a leader in Old World Rat Snakes. Asian rat snakes are super cool and can be exceedingly rare in the US. Matt probably has the most comprehensive collection in the country. He is very knowledgeable and a great guy. We can not thank him enough for allowing us to visit and video his collection. This is the first time anyone has videoed his collection and the animals he has... Well you have to see it to believe it!

The species diversity makes me so happy.
I've always wanted to see behind the scenes of his collection. It's so awesome that you got that chance. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us too.

Thank you R@B and Mathew for sharing this amazing collection , and a lot of knowledge in the video for those ready to hear it. Great interview too, very interesting and a great flow to it
Thank you!
This is certainly one of my favorite videos, Matt's collection is amazing. - Ryan
That is so interesting...1 year before it eats its first meal! Blew my mind!
Yeah its pretty crazy
?
This was awesome, i have been waiting for years to find a video like this on youtube showcasing someone with much more obscure/rarer type snakes. If there is one thing i could add to this is that i wish you had taken some time to get some good quality B roll shots of the animals rather than just stand there with the camera and barely showing what the animal looks like up close
That's a fair criticism and I wish we did too. We will definitely try to get better shots next time.
@@RandBReptiles awesome, are you gonna do a video on stan and larry's collection someday?
It is a goal but we will see. Maybe matt can put in a good word for us
Thanks for sharing this video. Excellent collection.

Thank you Rooney!
What an amazing collection!
So many different kinds that you just never see. It will be interesting to see what species and morphs will be available in another 20 years.
He's EXTREMELY knowledgeable.....💯💯💯💯💯
Mind Blowing! Been into reptiles for several decades and you learn something new every day. So Beautifully Asain and then some. It is a whole other world. What was the name of the Russian to China red snake again? Whats his web site and FB page name again could not catch it...
Matthew Most from Sarpamitra

Awesome looking snakes !! Never seen 3\4 of them ,not into pythons and boas so these are amazing to me . Of course im a sucker for the bright colors. The grey and yellow Vietnamese is beautiful. I love the idea of the lower temp animals . Who didnt have a red rat snake and what a great pet they where to get something with extreme coloration and to have the traits of the great red rat thats amazing. Great video much appreciate the look at your collection and wish you much great success and happiness with your passion. And yes i want one of each much like everyone watching so make as many babys as you can. The only thing with snakes is cohabitation i havent had snakes for 20 years or so and have been researching and would like a nice livingroom display. So diurnal,im up north so the temp cooler, but would love to have more than one so im leaning towards fancy garters . The problem is i see you guys with these amazing animals. The last king snake i had for 23years so im trying to get some info before deciding and videos like this are very informative.
The mandarins are a favorite of ours as well. We love seeing diverse collections.
Harvest time so plenty of time 🐍🐍🐍🤣🤣
I never knew there were so many species are rat snakes old world rat snakes let alone
Agreed
1st in a long time bros
My man!
Is Matt using cypress mulch as a substrate? I stopped because it is so dusty. Has he had any issues with it over the years? Hey Matt I read! I do not rely on care sheets!! I want to know the animals natural history and will take mental notes. I am constantly doing my own research, I just gotta know. My mother instilled a love of learning about wildlife through reading and have a hunger for knowledge .
I will pass the message on
100% organic cypress mulch is used. No issues with dust but need to avoid the blends as contain other woods including pallets that are ground up to use as filler.
@@RandBReptiles thank you for the info. Yea cypress mulch is way cheaper than aspen, if he's using it I am going back to it.
i love ring pythons as babys. but when they get older they dont look as nice.
What were the specific species that didn't musk and could live with no added heat source?
I'll run that by Matt and let you know.
Dione's Ratsnake
Dion's or steppe
I was hoping to see an Elaphe Carinata Yonaguniensis. Do you know if Matt has any?
King rats? He has a few babies. We show one in the video but the adults are with one of his partners
@@RandBReptiles I want a King Rat Yonaguniensis. Is a subspecies of the Elaphe Carinata Carinata.
Who makes those racks
Is he still selling
How do you spell the Deon rat snake?
I will ask matt
I found it finally...it's Dione Rat Snake
Sir, which species are these ?
There are several different species of old and new world Ratsnakes
@@RandBReptiles thanks Sir
Lol, somebodys got little girls in the house.
I have a "clutch" of children so i would know.
Blurry video
Try manually setting the resolution. It's up in HD. If you have slow internet when you try to view it it will make it play at low resolution
so sad to see this shitty way to keep these day active hunting snakes, only in the US, if it was here in Europe the goverment would come home to you and take all your animals and give you big fine for animal abuse as its illegal to keep them in so small cramped cages its discusting.
I really want a file snake now.. wish I had room -_-
They are wonderful
