Having lived in England for 15 years (I'm from WV and also lived in Ohio for a few years), nobody talks like that. Nobody. In the area I'm in, you'd probably have no idea what people are even saying half the time. It took me a good few years to adjust to the accent, and I'm married to a local man. The generalised posh English accent is one that I've never come across.
MrsBrit1 it’s actually quite a common accent amongst the upper classes, bare in mind we have a lot of different accents and even within each county there can be vast differences in accent and local dialect

Thank you for making this super easy tutorial! Usually I get dizzy from all the patterns and explanations and what not but you keep it simple (also I am too a huge fan of the "let just wing it" sewing method). Finally fullfilled my dream of making a dress 🥰
This is pretty nice for if you need something historical and are on a time crunch. Naturally the more time you have, the more details you can add to make it more accurate, but even without that, it’s relatively believable

Thanks for this tutorial, Micarah! I actually tried to follow it when making a regency dress of my own! I wanted to go more historical-ish, so I used ribbons to tie up the neckline, sleeve puffs, and waist. It didn't turn out quite as good as it might have if I'd used elastic, but it worked and I'm happy with it. Quite.
I actually did make the dress and it was a massive success. I sew quite often but I’ve only made costumes for my toddler. Definitely recommend giving it a try.
Honestly micarah your tutorials actually teach me a lot about just going for it and hacking stuff together. Yours is more polished but in surprised every day when stuff works out without a single measurement in sight 😊
