Hello Chris.. I have a become a fan of yours with this organic farming..and you have taught me and my wife a lot.. you have become like a sensei to us.. anyway, i have a question that I would like to ask regarding FPJ input to use because it isnt possible for us to procure banana flower right now.. could the young leaves of an umbrella tree be ok to use? Because I noticed that umbrella trees grow everywhere and even with little nutrients on the soil.. we have umbrella tree on our front yard and it is growing rather healthy compared to other plants we have.
Been a long time since you posted this video. Hope you are doing well. Checking from suburb of Chicago. Thank you for posting your KNF Comfry FPJ. Exactly what I was looking for. Appreciated the plant nutrients break down info. ❤
10:17 hows the ulysses in background. came on my shuffle this morning as well. havent heard it in long time. tripped me out. aloha from maui. good stuff you got here 🤙🏽
Hi Chris Can i store my finished fpj in a airlock container to prevent mold on top? Is it normal for finished fpj to have little white mold on surface ???
Hi Chris, great video, very helpful. I’m wondering about the use of sugar. I’m new to KNF and reading master Cho’s book. In it, he talks specifically about not using sugar b/c it makes the input acidic. Has something changed in the thinking? Not criticizing, just wondering as I try and figure this out. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. You have inspired me to give this a try in my permaculture garden in Wyoming.
Do you have to wait until the fruit or vegetables are rotten or would you rather put them in as they are fresh and with the moisture on like you’re saying some of us have to use some of the things from the grocery stores because we are so close in the city so rotten or fresh for FPJ
With FPJ, will the temperature in the morning effect the quality of material that is ultimately produced? Is it ok to gather material in the 40s or 50s degree range? I know microorganisms are most active at warmer temperatures. Any thoughts?
+Philip an electric chopper would be cool, but you don't want a blender, we don't want the 'guts' of the plant, we want what seeps out with the introduction of minor alcohols.
Great video! Thank you! I've read that using FPJ, due to the sugar is quite acidic. Have you found that to be the case? Thanks again for a wonderful video.
you're the man chris. What are some good options for FPJ other than banana flower for those on the mainland? I was thinking of upgrading an aloe foliar feed and make it aloe fpj, I have okinawan sweet potatoes coming in soon and I was thinking about using the leaves for FPJ. only other crop I can think of is longevity spinach and its so valuable I have yet to bring myself to make FPJ with it. 🤘
You are doing a great job Chris, here in my country brown sugar is really expensive, so can molasses serve the same purpose? and will it be very effective as the brown sugar? Thanks.
I know this is really late but the short answer is yes. I use molasses myself instead of brown sugar Most molasses is just brown sugar mixed with some other ingredient like honey or syrup or something like that
I wonder if using sugar cane it will work. And maybe not even having to add so much sugar. I will try tomorrow morning because my sugar canes are invading the rest of the farm and I have to take some out
Ainda aguardo suas respostas para comentários anteriores.Qual à proporção de suco de planta fermentado que devo colocar na solução a ser pulverizada nas plantas?
Is it possible to freeze the Juice without killing the bacteria? (Pardon my ignorance) What would be the best way to storage large amounts of it? Cheers!
Hi, I live in the sub-tropics. Would I need to store FPJ in a refrigerated environment or would a shady spot under some banana trees be enough. Its about 85degrees F right now. I'm learning a lot from your video by the way. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for the reply. I guess that means looking for a larger fridge because its 85F in the shade now and will go higher in the coming summer months. I thought Hawaii would be warmer than Okinawa. Anyway keep up the good work you are doing. I'll be experimenting and trying out various things based on your videos.
Wow.. I have almost completed your whole series and performed everything I could! Here's a good question for you or anybody. Could I use a really large "Hemp" plant that only made it to about the 6th week of flowering outdoors??? I have a stripped down and frozen and a giant turkey bag in my deep freezer I was going to make other things out of it but I think this would be the best! Let me know what you think. You rock!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

OK, reading the comments I now need to go figure out what LAB is :( Anyway, I have read about FPJ and I have learned about IMO's. When do we use which one on our plants? Also, when I make my FPJ, do I use only one kind of plant at a time? I have plantain, but I don't even have perslain. New to this area, so I'm just figuring out my 'weeds'! Thank yoU!
:) i have a video on LAB, IMO, and FPJ, check em out :) for applications check out some of the literature or join a NF facebook group. Plantain is great! You are very welcome :)
+AK M hey man! Yeah, I have always been someone who 'does' before I teach. I'll post a bunch of chicken information from things I've been doing for years, but some of this feed formulation stuff I will do first. If you want immediate posts you need to check out my friend Drake's videos. There is a lot of information that needs to be shared and some is hard to filter.
Hi Chris, as per usual great videos. Your videos are greatly appreciated. Would you know of an easy to get, affordable alternative to brown sugar? Thanks a bunch and all the best.
+Titito De Bologay dry molasses works too, you need slightly less of it than brown sugar though because it seems to be 'dryer'. You are very welcome :)
Hi Chris, been learning a lot from your videos, so thanks for that first of all! I do have one question that I don’t believe you’ve addressed on any videos yet... Is it bad if any mold develops on top of the FPJ / FFJ during fermentation? I’m doing this on a much smaller scale. and just noticed some tiny little spots of white mold. Should I toss it and start over or will it be ok after I strain it? There isn’t much at all just a few tiny spots. Thanks!
You can measure the sugar/water ratio using a hydrometer/refractometer. They are used by people making syrup (high sugar) or alcohol (low sugar). I don't know the minimum concentration required to inhibit yeast (alcohol) or bacteria (vinegar). Similar to alcohol, you can use vinegar to inhibit yeast/bacteria. Both are waste products of the respective microbe, and nature makes them go dormant when the waste concentration gets too high.
Chris, I am teaching people to use KNF solutions Please can you ask Doctor Pak how he prepares and drink LAB? Does it drink it the same day or keep the LAB and drink it the next day? Thank you for all the time and effort you put in to show us exactly how KNF solutions are prepared. I have wasted a lot of money and time doing OHN the wrong way as we weren't given or shown the proper method oon Vimeo or You Tube. No measurements etc. Vodka is crazy ezpensive here.. God bless you
+Hannah Daniel I am glad to hear these videos are helping you. You can use whatever strong alcohol is cheap, vodka is cheapest here. 30%alcohol or greater is all you need. Dr.Park is a close friend of mine. He makes LAB just like in my video. He drinks it with every meal, about 20ml in some water. He makes a large amount and stores it in the refrigerator and uses it little by little.

E. coli, salmonella and even cholera have been incubated this way with deadly consequences in Korea and Taiwan. Compost does not have these issues and is generally recognized as safe and effective.

Can you use aloe vera or banana leaves & stems for fpj?
Hi, Chris
What are nutrients available from final product and what will be the fermentation time?
Great video! Thank you! I've read that using FPJ, due to the sugar is quite acidic. Have you found that to be the case? Thanks again for a wonderful video.
I think the fpj isn't as bad as ffj when it comes to the sugar content.
