I would say the piece is beautiful, creative and very well made on the one hand. But on the other hand, not too practical if you have numerous leads and would need to make one of these for every one of them.

As a carpenter I enjoyed every single step of your work. Of course it's so much easier, cheaper and faster to buy a ready-built one, but as a personal project for a special and own-built subject it's amazing. Thanx for sharing those beautiful ideas.

I built a similar contraption years ago, except I put a 4 way at the end... and it worked better than anything store bought... I tried several ones from home depot and the nothing was as good

I also bought one frome Home Depot.
It works, but you have to be an octopus to wind it up...
I'm going to take it apart and use the pieces to build a better one.

Bravo. As previously mentioned, ... you obviously have several skills for which you've Mastered.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I've watched it several times.
Every element in this presentation was Top Shelf, 1st Class and produced so professionally I'm going to assign my Video Production students to screen it as a project deserving an "A-"!
Originally, I assigned "A+" to the video.
The "A-" is ... In my own personal and professional opinion ... because of this.
I docked you .10 for using ... what is in my own personal opinion ... a totally inappropriate TOOL used for tightening chrome plated >> anythings!!
Combination wrench/Spanner. Socket or Nut Driver. .... (or the business ends of those oversized adjustable Pumps taped to prevent TOOL MARKINGS. and your grade raised to "A++" !

I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

Interesting ideas. The performance is excellent, aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. The winding knot is a little wrong, the spool just needs bumpers, in your design the cable rubs against the body. Otherwise very nice, the idea with the bearings and loose cable cord is great. Thank you for the video.

Beautiful cord reel. True craftsmanship BUT you could save a lot of time and money and just buy a commercially made one online for about 25 to 30 dollars. They would be just as functional and you won't care in the least if you drop it and scratch it all up, which is inevitable. BTW...I really enjoyed watching this build. Thanks.
