Maybe the reason for the Spirit bomb not working with the transformation is that, after Riku goes through the whole process (I can't think of anything for this) that lets him ascend to this form, he puts all of that power into the giant spirit bomb as a final attack

Some of the studios like Bugthesda treat them like free workforce to bug fixes. There are some separate cases where devs ask for help from a modder like with Better AI mod for Stellaris but still they afraid to ask if they can merge their mod into their game.
