I almost forgot about this game. Soooooooooo freaking funny. I think this was the game that made me fall in love with the humor from down under. This really should be made into a movie.
2:27 "Call for backup now". "Right, right. Err. Gordon! Bennett!". Gordon Bennett is an English saying that's equivalent to "Oh my god!" or "Bloody hell". 16 years later and I only just get that reference now haha! Such a good game.
I was going to ask how he was supposed to spit his drink on the barkeep with the helmet on. Then I noticed that he also drank it through his helmet. It's clearly not a thing worth questioning.
Man, it's been years since I played this but nevertheless I still hear the resounding scream of "TIMMMY" in the back of my subconsciousness from time to time. It's one of those "oh shit" moments you never quite forget. *Sighs* May he rest in peace.
I think it would blow away a lot of gamers if this came out totally redone into today's tech. Or even a sequel, for that matter, if they managed to get hold of Dave Perry.
Hold Ctrl and then move the crosshair over one of the offsprings. Then hold either right-click or left-click and look at an enemy. Release right-click or left-click and the offsrping will either run after the enemy and eat them (left-click) or run after the enemy, grab them, and bring them back to you (right-click)
I miss this game's multiplayer. Well, not the hackers with infinite health of course... It was great. I wish they would do a remake of this game in the future and add a 1v1v1 scenario (Meccaryns vs Sea reapers vs Kabutos). Good times.
Hey guy! What did Citizen Kabuto successful were mostly things that are missed in games today: a good story, showed as comedy, or light drama of the kind " this is serious, but first have fun". The lines of the scenes have a touch of good mood, and into the game you are progressively growing up your skills, resources and the main; a kind of "interaction" with your team, mostly in the first stage.Games today lack of all that elements, focused only in graphic quality and obsessive realism.
Main engine? Check Rear thrusters? Check Picnic basket? uhhh..... Check. LOL that was one of my favorite parts and then the fly through the wall. LOL this was definitely one of my favorite games.
:D good days i remember this game i was sooooooooooooooo psyched to play this game and i loved it! i remember i loved the levels when u had to build the walls and buildings :D
I. Remember in this game fighting a beast similar to a large buffalo type and so far into the fight, it goes to a cut scene, where the beast sits on you and it goes running around with you stuck out of its bum lol😂😂😂
I still remember when i bought this game at the time. Didn't knew what to expect, but man... It was fuking hilarious one of the most funniest games ever! I miss games like this.
The thing that made Giants successful was that it was revolutionary for it's time, everything was pretty much new for gamers. Nowadays a game like this wouldn't make it in the market, it's just us few fans that still remember this game and maybe even play it. The writers would probably fuck it up too.
there was this rave when i went to secondary school where people would shout TIMMYYYYYYYY. My friend asked me, "where the heck does that come from, south park?" I replied: "no, Giants Citizens Kabuto". :)
Well, Modern Warfare 2 was not out at this time. Nor would it be out until 2009. Until then, this game and those similar were what gave us our daily dose of entertainment.
Such a shame that one of the best sequences in the game had such poor audio synchronization! Still, this still makes me laugh years after playing the game.
Just fictional story, focused in unexpected-ridiculous situations, the dialogs of characters are always surprising you, Some effects or realism in situations are sacrificed for let the story flows easy and fast.
Check out GiantsWD.org for more on this game and a still active community. People still play online and with the 1.497 patch you can find servers directly from your in game browser. There's even a webchat for Giants players with server listings on another site. Though of course you could also just come say hi on the GWD forums!
This has to be one of the funniest games of all time.
This cinematic especially. It had me in fits of laughter.
TIMMYYYYYY!
The best story of British astronauts. :D
This game has really some stunning music and gorgeous graphics (for its time), I still remember the bliss :)
I wish they remade this game... so fun and cool to feel so powerful when you become Kabuto

I was going to ask how he was supposed to spit his drink on the barkeep with the helmet on. Then I noticed that he also drank it through his helmet. It's clearly not a thing worth questioning.

Yes, it is underrated. More people should play it more often.
Man, it's been years since I played this but nevertheless I still hear the resounding scream of "TIMMMY" in the back of my subconsciousness from time to time. It's one of those "oh shit" moments you never quite forget.
