I am Māori Tahitian mix John Tere'moana Green and I love this video. I am also love the Americana Indigenous Natives I feel connect with many of my friends who are Hopi, Papago here where I live in California. I live in northern California the Tolowa Dee-In remind of my people in New Zealand. They look so much like the Maori. I joined the Wiyot Native Tribe as a non tribal member. The Northern native people have the same looking tattoos and tribal wear that resemble the Maori. Some of the language reminds of the Polynesian language.
As a first generation, Non-Maori NZ'der.. this makes me proud. 2 first nations cultures identifying, recognizing, & acknowledging each other. How rich in spirit. Blessings & Best wishs to those showing support to fellow first nations cultures.
Kia ora no tatou. Forgoing their etymological definition for now, I am learning that terms like indigenous and native, like savage, uncivilised, maori, and more besides are european terminology that are nuanced heavily toward inferior beings. Well, I identify as a human first, by my iwi next, closely followed by my hapu. And thats as it should be.
