I also love animals, and I come from a family of non-hunters. I used to think deer hunting was awful, but then I worked for the Wisconsin Department of Recreation and discovered something even more horrifying: the deer that starved to death because their environment could no longer support the growing population. Since then, I have felt very differently about hunters and hunting. Sometimes it's the better alternative.
"Hey kitty, what are you doing here?" Cat: *"I am the sole surviver, the collector of the dead.. and I rule upon their trapped souls for all of eternity!"*
Well, this is an internet first...You have been given an interactive tour by a kitty Docent! This is what I love about your work Jacob, you are sensitive towards others but at the same time you publish stuff some may not appreciate or has no connection to your personal views. PLEASE just keep doing what you do, we know that we now live in a society that is offended by anything...Speaking of that I think the last Family Guy episode when Brian gets kicked out of the house encapsulated it very well...Did you happen to see it? Keep it up!
+Black Sheep72 yeah, I get a lot of kick back from people who assume that everything I show I agree with one hundred percent. That's not what I am about and not what this channel is about. I think a lot can be gained from learning from people with different views as yourself
I have family that are big time hunters! I use to have a duck that was taxidermy hanging on the wall ! Now it's in box some where because my son is scared of it. Loved the kitty and it's talking to you and showing you the beaver!! Your right we all have something in common that makes us like each other. I don't hunt but I don't complain either ! Love and peace to all
Loved the cat!! It was weird how it seemed it wanted to show you something. It kept looking back at you to see if you where coming!!! So darn cute. Thanks for the tour!!
I haven't watched through yet on my Roku, but had to stop and leave a comment because "if you aren't into taxidermy, click on a nice video about clowns or dolls or something" made my day. Lol Thanks, Jacob.
Nice video! My grandparents had a deer head mounted on the wall and I always enjoyed touching its shiny fake eyes. Like a doll’s eyes, if you will. Also, it looked like a nice Jeep parked in front of your vehicle.
As much as I love Taxidermy I have to agree with the comments. The cat is the best. I wish I could pet it. Also that vampire deer is most likely a Muntjac. They are really cool animals.
Okay, I am still watching and I kinda want the cat to be named Taxi or Dermy. It has too healthy a coat to be named Dermy. Thanks again, Jacob. I dig taxidermy.
My dad was a hunter, and so I grew up eating venison, wild quail, etc. My dad still has several deer head displayed at his house. I've always thought taxidermy was pretty interesting. I'm on the fence about big game hunting/taxidermy. Ultimately as long as the hunting was done legally...to each his and her own.
The Carpetbagger just spent Thanksgiving weekend with my parents at their cabin. Hunting came into conversation. My mom and dad both are disgusted by big game "prize" hunting. I pretty much knew that already, but I'm not sure they would even like looking at taxidermy of prize hunting. It sounds like your grandfather and my dad would have gotten along. My dad loves nature.
I like a good bit of taxidermy, and a bit of bad! One of my budgies passed away last week and I sent him to a taxidermist to see what she does with him. Keep his beauty forever
I was first introduced to taxidermy specimens at a fantastic children's museum when I was very young. The placement of the specimens was mostly in replicas of natural habitats. So my first impressions were very positive. Such work has a positive place in our world, and I would never condemn anybody for working as a taxidermist. Abuse can take place anywhere, at any time. And abuse does not take away the valid use, as an old Latin proverb says. 3-dimensional seeing, and sometimes touching, provides a much more in depth and realistic educational experience than a flat lithograph on a wall or in a book. Don't stop with these, Jacob. Please. Last time I looked, death was a natural part of, well... LIFE!
I had the same thought, the taxidermy is wicked cool but the other stuff completely turned me off. The people that own that place are weirdos and not because they hunt.
I enjoyed this one Jacob, as you know I love taxidermy too, this place was like a treasure chamber to view, excellent. And that little friendly cat as a tour guide made it all the more perfect. 😊
I also have this phobia, its called Doraphobia. Why I watch is to help lessen the phobia by learning more about it... that said I could never hunt. I don't think I'd be able to walk into a place like this ever in person... so thanks for helping me walk thru it virtually. That said... hope in the future vids that he goes easy on the close ups (for me & the shaking of the camera works like a jump scare).
@@ECampbell947 I have the same phobia. Once made it through the Natural History Museum in London. I was carried the whole way through. I still freeze up around taxidermy and have developed a sixth sense when I go into buildings.
Jacob, this is how much I love you and how dedicated I am.... I’m going to WATCH a VLOG on Taxidermy 😱 That’s some serious dedication, 😂 ☮️💜 #ProudFanGirl69
I know this is a bit off topic but two questions: 1) Did I see a drone shot back a while ago? If I'm not mixing up TH-cam channels can you tell me what type you use? I have a small one with poor quality but when taxes come that's one of the things I want to upgrade. 2) Would you ever be interested in coming out to California? If yes what's holding you back. I'd love to see a vlog of you at Disney or at Calico. Stay awesome and stay safe on your travels!
The Carpetbagger well I thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate it. I hope someday you can make it out here. You'll probably have a very interesting video series to watch.
To elaborate, I love seeing them, essp good taxidermy... but I have issues when it comes to exotic & endangered animals being hunted for trophies or just to say they did it... and I feel like I should be more disturbed that I'm looking at a stuffed corpse, but I naturally still do the cute "awww 🥰" response when I see them.... so you see, I am super torn myself on the subject.
Look at those assholes with all the dead endangered species. Taxidermy is great. Big game hunting is disgusting and unethical. Having said that, I LOVE your videos, Jacob! Keep up the amazing work.
That was a crocodile that ate people. I love taxidermy. I'm not fond of big game hunters but I prefer people to use every bit of an animal hunted for food. I make art from dead stuff and plan on stuffing some passed pets as well as meat animals I cull. As Carpetbagger said, you have no room to talk if you eat meat. At least some of us have the balls to earn our meat ourselves.
Hey Jacob I’d love to see you vlog on The Broken Antler western town on a hillside in Gallia County Ohio,Wild Bill from Mountain Monsters frequents this place ,this guy also does some cool artistic taxidermy as well like I said keep up the good work!
The cat is the best thing in this museum.
The interactions with the cat were just precious. xD
The cat is the tour guide.
LoneSoul06 Hahah best tour guide ever😂😂😂
Your kitty tour guide is my favorite part. I love how cats bond with you.

how to tell carpetbagger is a good guy:
cats frolic to him
That cat was adorable
That poor kitty was so excited to have interaction with someone alive. Best part of video.
I haven't watched through yet on my Roku, but had to stop and leave a comment because "if you aren't into taxidermy, click on a nice video about clowns or dolls or something" made my day. Lol Thanks, Jacob.
I wonder if the kitty was hungry, meow!
The cat’s like “HELP! I DON’T WANT TO BE STUFFED AND DISPLAYED IN A STUPID POSITION”
"This is a lovely room of death... take care now, bye bye then!" Ace Ventura - Pet Detective
Nice video, but the kitty stole the show....so friendly, and just wanted to make sure you saw it all.....hahahahahahaha

I think the cat was hungry, lol, Amazing taxidermy, he really does a great job.
carpetbagger, I rewatch your vids over and over while working... THANKS!
That cat was so freaking adorable pet me pet me 😍😍😍🐱😂😂😂😹awsome place
At Thanksgiving, do the animals at this museum get extra stuffing?
"Taxidermy Overload"? More like "Cuteness Overload"! The cat stole the whole show, almost!
I don't have a problem. Great video. 👍
Whoa! A lot of stuffing's here
6:08 I lost my brain cells when he sayed hes eating a bass its a trout
Been to Franklin many times ill have to look that up next time

+Chrissy Copeland my grandfather was a hunter and hunted the same sort of thing. He loved and respected nature more then any man I have ever known

I love the snake noise you made 😂
omg the kitty is so cute!!!
Jacob you are a great guy
This one is on the wall Jacob, not in the bag! Love all your videos!
I love animals and I have nothing against taxidermy. Thanks for the video(:

+Bill Farnham I was fascinated by taxidermy visiting the Milwaukee museum as a child
remind me never to set foot in this place, and not because of the dead animal carcases.
Mike H. Lol same although judging from the Obama poster I doubt the owners of this place would like someone of my complexion in their museum.
@@saidwahnow yeah totally unprofessional.
I had the same thought, the taxidermy is wicked cool but the other stuff completely turned me off. The people that own that place are weirdos and not because they hunt.

I thought it was cool, and your cat guide was cute
I absolutely love taxidermy, so these videos are my favorite! Also the cat was super cute lol
I saw a standing stuffed bear at Two Harbors on Catalina Island in the hotel 🏨 lobby!
I just watched your video. Love the kitty and how you interact with cats.
great video man keep it up!
That cat is adorable
I enjoyed this one Jacob, as you know I love taxidermy too, this place was like a treasure chamber to view, excellent. And that little friendly cat as a tour guide made it all the more perfect. 😊
Oh my god I loved taxidermy cat 😻 it followed you everywhere! I love when you were talking about the babboon & it answered you back
Plot twist:the cat is actually a piece of taxidermy that comes to life to try to get people to revive his taxidermy Brothers
This looks more like a flea market
That cat is like “I killed like 90% of these and also the owners please feed me”
I have a horrible fear of taxidermy. Don't know why I'm here but I could never 🙃😭

Even though taxidermy isn’t my thing, this was still a very interesting video.
i have a very very bad phobia of taxidermy but i love the history of wildlife
I to have this phobia... Your not alone with this..../hug... I watch to help with "exposure therapy".
I filmed there yesterday and I'm not sure but I think the taxidermy cat is now stuffed. You can see if he's the one once I edit and upload.
What!?!?
There was a stuffed cat but I don't think it was that one. Just kidding. Probably someone's pet that died.
I love the vid and totally agree with you!!!
