    Hey Guys, Try watching the video in 4k! Nick filmed this video in 4k. Let us know if you like the higher resolution. Let us know if you notice a difference even at 1080p. The video should be running at a higher bit rate.

      Can't tell any difference 4k vs 1080 on my computer screen but I don't have a 4k display. I think the video quality of even the 1080 looks exceptionally crisp and clean but that may be due to your recording equipment.

    Tires are the only thing between you and the road, my life is worth more then $500....4/10 their gone, pressure I find is the key to performance and mileage, brands for me right now it’s been Metzlers. Tire tech lady 20 years has improved so much

  • @miketodd9927
    @miketodd9927 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video. More tech makes for better and safer riders.Like the old saying goes "Where the rubber meets the road"! The contact patch is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, not very big. Make checking your tire pressure a monthly habit and take a look at your tires before your ride. Additional important information, if you change tire compound your NEED TO CHANGE BOTH TIRES! You should also change tires as a set. Yes it's expensive, but! A shot of all of the information on the sidewall of the tire would have been helpful. There is a date of manufacture that should be looked at. Cheaply priced tires might not be the deal you think they are. Thanks Nick & Matt, you're doing a job the Motor Company should be doing.

Today's first time learning about multi compound and thinking i will ditch Michelin Scorcher for something else. I looked at Revzilla there are about 8 options. • @saddle8bag
    @saddle8bag 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not a big fan of the multi compounds.They can wear funny, but besides, most aren't getting over that far on the tire on a cruiser anyway. And if they are, they probably want the good rubber across the tire. If you're going to be riding fast, there's nothing more critical than your ability to brake. That takes a ton more grip than going around a corner at street speeds.
    A guy at work once asked me to check out his bike as he thought he was feeling some vibration in the front end. He'd brag about his tires getting 15k miles. I didn't think of that when I hit his front brake to see if maybe the steering bearings were loose. What broke loose was his front tire and nearly my bowels.
    I'm willing to sacrifice longentivity for performance. I also carry a travel roll of Charmin on demo rides now.

    • @TH3G0ODGUY
      @TH3G0ODGUY 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never noticed any odd wear on any of the prirellis I've run on my sport bikes, despite them being dual compounds, and I got great mileage from them considering how sticky they were.
      The cruistecs I featured in this video are only dual compound in the rear so brake performance is only slightly impacted as the front tire is a single soft compound.

    • @saddle8bag
      @saddle8bag 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TH3G0ODGUY Yeah, they're probably getting better at blending the compounds as they come together now. I had an FJR when they first became all the rage and that bike always had a raised center and a scoop toward the sides on the front tire. That bike was hell on front tires. It could destroy just about any front tire easily within 5k miles.

The majority of my riding, because im from Illinois, is a lot of straight-line riding. Recently just made it out to the twisties and found that the grip, even in cooler weather(55°), they seemed to have a pretty nice feel.. but I wasnt pushing the limits of my riding ability.
