Dr. Pandey and I discussed our own last name pronunciation. 🤔 I’m curious-how do you properly pronounce your last name vs. how other people pronounce it? 😬 Let us know in the comments! 💬
Check out his new book at thepremedparadox.com/

Dr. Pandey is so thoughtful and I am sure his book will be very good. He is is right that being a physician is such a huge commitment with so little information.

This book is a resource I have been wanting to read and digest for such a long time. I can not wait for it to be published!!

One of the most inspiring things I got out of this video is how, despite the difference in career paths, it is clear that the "same kind" of person is talking: hard-working, driven, with a growth mindset and ability of self-analysis. Loved it!
P.S. would also love to know what the book on suturing was titled😂

That is awesome to hear! So glad this conversation could provide a positive perspective. I always love discussing topics like this with Dr. Jubbal as he is very thoughtful/insightful and a ton of fun to chat with. What a beautiful book topic. I’m in my final year of dental school and the only soon-to-be dmd in my family. Even with my hygiene degree-It offers some insight but still not so easy to imagine the day-to-day that will become my reality in a few short months. I feel that colleagues who were raised in medicine might have a bit of a confidence boost knowing what they’re getting into- where there’s room to make mistakes (being human) and to grow as a professional.- Today’s young doctors are so concerned with patient care and their outcomes, to the point where allowing space for ourselves to develop skills can come with major guilt but it’s all a part of the process. 🙏 Keep up the amazing work 🙂

I am new to the medical field as far as no one in my family showed me the lifestyle of a doctor etc. I grew up looking at them almost robotic and your videos have definitely made me realize I am on the right path. Especially all the MCAT studying I been doing even while working for uber listening to mcat audio books.. I was like “am I doing the most?” lol, this video provided validation in the humanness of striving after such a huge goal and all the unexpected things that happen on the way..

@@nizaziza9679 That is excellent! Best of luck to you on your journey! It is important to humanize the experience of medical training and practice. We are all unique people with unique interests inside and outside of medicine. Very glad to hear this video helped. If you would like to gain more perspective on the life of a physician and the experiences along the way, check out my book The Premed Paradox at the links in the description!

Asking random youtubers to comment on your spine's imaging doesn't sound too bright.

Not last name, but my first name. I pronounce my first name in a westernized way, aka the way they pronouced my name in preschool and Kindergarten lol. And I've stuck by it, but in India it is pronouced in another way.

    Spelled: Shang, like Shanghai
    Pronounced: sa-ang
    Americanized: shane
I rarely use my legal first name, it ends in f-u😅
