Hello Chris, A lot of f/0.95 lenses have came out since your last comparison, I would love to know more about what is the current sharpest options out there.
@@christopherfrost hehe Noct is Nikon only, would like to know options for Canon and Nikon too. Also it costs a arm and a kidney 😅 I meant with the cheaper chinese range.
Howdy Christopher As you are in my eyes one of the the most important and neutral camera lens reviewer I'm looking forward if you're going to review the 7artisans hope cinema lens series. Carry on doing your good stuff 💪🏼
I was hoping that after testing the Fuji XT-50 that you would next test the new XF 18-55 zoom lens as it was on the camera that you tested. Is this lens test coming soon.
Third party lenses with a wider rear mount to accomodate the larger throat diameter of the Z-mount make me chuckle a bit... Anyway, price, sharpness across aperture range, close focus, minimal color fringing, awesome lens!
4:10 Im using my grandpas old Minolta 50 1.4. Most of the time its beutiful, but if I get the angle wrong towards the sun and it becomes much much worse than this sequence. Literally 1/3 of the image becomes a "triangle" shaped pink something 😅
While Sony has G Master, both 7artisan and TTartisan can name their lenses Flare Master. I own a few of their lenses and they are consistently weak in this aspect.
All these lenses appear to be the same (metal barrel, 158-172 grams, USB-C port, 6/5 optical layout, 6-blade diaphragm, 30 cm close focus), differing only in style, filter size, and focusing ring width: 27/2.8 AF with 39mm filter, narrow focusing ring for Nikon Z-mount: - 7Artisans - Astrhori 27/2.8 AF with 52mm filter, narrow focusing ring for Sony E-mount: - 7Artisans 27/2.8 AF with 52mm filter, wide focusing ring for Sony E-mount: - Jintu - Neewer 27/2.8 AF with 52mm filter, wide focusing ring for Fujifilm X-mount: - Jintu
Its not brighter, it has less vignetting. In the uncorrected pictures either the ISO or shutter speed will be adjusted to equal the exposure of the images when stoppe down.
vignetting. the image circle just barely covers the aps c sensor. same happens with the ttartisans 27mm f 2.8 I regret buying it over a fuji xf28mm so much.
If you're talking about brightness in the corners, stopping down aliviaste vignetting effect. That said, you would have to compensate with higher ISO or slower shutter speed to keep the centre brightness equal.
@@christopherfrostThis one is slightly longer than TTartisan, it’s a perfect fit for what I do, just wish it’s wider. Viltrox 16mm is what I’m using, but my application involves flying sharp metal objects, so it’s not the most economical option. Tiny lenses cannot give enough buffer.
I bought this lens on release with absolutely no expectations - and was pleasantly surprised, after the Dustin Abbott review (Sony E mount)
Good to see, that there are also low-budget lenses with nice quality available for mirrorless cameras.

The 'Noct' is still pretty high up there ;-)

So I guess it's better than its direct competitor, the TTArtisan 27mm/2.8?
In other reviews it showed a weaker performance. I guess it's a bit hit or miss on those cheap lenses
Worse. Ttartisan is not so bad in the dark, distortion is present, but less pronounced. Bonus - swirling bokeh.

The 18-55 is not new. The XF 16-50 is.
Hello Chris, I love your videos, would love an update on the sharpest lens video as the last one was a while ago.
Probably a good lens for street photography paired with an older cheap APS-C camera, bringing down the cost to a minimum.
How does this compare to the TTArtisan 27mm AF?
Chris, How did you trick the Z7 to show the full frame circular image using this apsc lens?

I wonder how it will perform on a Nikon Zfc 🤔

That flaring is so bad I'm inclined to think that there's a manufacturing defect. Perhaps the aperture blade coating has gone wrong?
if the performance against bright light was nice it would be a super lense
I found these Chinese lens I just need to jump to flare section , major issue or not
Great 👍
Fuji when
It would be really funny, ironically, if adding a coated UV filter will actually reduce lens flaring

why f4 is brighter than 2.8?

It looked much smaller in pictures.
That's what she said
