Yes it is(Marfa)and I don’t like flower/floral. I purchased the FB and get 10ml. I also Purchased the lotion/ body wash and layered with memo’s Irish spring(the dry down is really nice
I had the same reaction as you have with Wild Vanilla Orchid by Floral Street. I smelled it on the tester of the discovery set first and I liked it very much, so I bought a 10 ml version of it, but now I have it, I don't grab towards it, because there is something that's putting me off, something too sweet or too fruity, I don't know, maybe I will gift it to a friend :D
I fell in love with 724 when I first sniffed it. Wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. It is lovely🥰 and thameen peregrina has been on my radar for some time now. Can’t wait to sample it☺️ Edit: your vids are such a treat. It’s like TH-cam luxury and I don’t mind waiting for them🥰
I’m intrigued by the house Imaginary Authors. Am ordering a Short Story Collection of samples soon. Most want to snif “Yesterday Haze”. I’ve been loving Iris and powdery frags the last week or so. Think I was “influenced” somewhere along the line…😄 I tried a travel size FloralStreet Wild Vanilla Orchid - and like you, it is a “like” but not something I’d want a full bottle of. Love Anne Lauren! You two are my fave frag TH-camrs! We have similar tastes and that’s what makes it great!

Spent some time with Poets of Berlin. It is a derivative of Marc Jacobs Decadence EdP, which I own and is now delisted. Decadence did this first and better. ❤❤❤
Hmmm, I absolutely love Poets of berlin. Was a love at first sniff for me. Gives me BDK's pas ce soir vibes. Waiting for warmer weather to get myself a full bottle 😊🥰😍. I've been super curious about Marfa by Memo, and Amouge's Material, Honor and Overture. The way you describe peregrina, sounds amazing. Really wanna try....
My issue with Poets of Berlin is that yes, in the initial spray , it smells really good, and for a few mins. But the dry down is flat, generic and cheap smelling so yeah. Plus performance is not wow.
I tried so hard to like 724 but it’s too floral and fresh and I didn’t get any of the musk. It’s a more airy and sparkling floral. It’s beautiful just not for me. I love BR540 but my favorite so far has been gentle fluidity Gold- I immediately fell in love with that fragrance
I still have to try Gentle Fluidity Gold and can't wait to - I have very high hopes and expectations now from it based on all the love it's received. 😅 And there are fragrances like that. for sure, where you want to love them but they just don't give everything you want out of them. I'm sorry you didn't love 724 as much as you'd hoped but thank you for sharing your experience with it here. 🤗❣️
When you describe 724 it sounds more like Petit Matin . I don’t have the OG Aqua Universalis I have the forte. Check out Petit Matin by MFK and see if this smells more like that one. Great review

I think a sample would be enough to play around with it - Maybe try that? Also, have you tired/liked fragrances like Kirke or Jasmine Whisp? Similar vibe fragrances? Usually I find people either like them or don't. 😅

I agree with you about Poets of Berlin. I can recognize it is a very well blended high quality ingredients formula, but on my skin it just doesn't work. Happened to me also with both Xerjoffs Cruz del Sur 1 and Cruz del Sur 2. Everything I like "on paper", but on my skin they were terrible.
Aura is *really* special 😅 it’s one of those fragrances I can’t stop wanting to smell but it can also make me feel a bit sick sometimes. Very conflicted about it. Thanks for sharing Claire!

Ah, yes, I know what you mean, it does have a bit of that indolic white floral quality to it. I find it tolerable myself (very much in the background and subtle) but I can see how that would be off-putting if it were amplified. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Sandra!

Milk, immortelle, cinnamon, brown sugar, sandalwood... some of my favourite notes all paired together. 🥰 If anyone has tried it please let us know your thoughts - it will be on my radar now, so thank you Lilium for sharing.
Is it just me or when I see niche, I think expensive perfumes that are not likeable by all and you are better off sticking to designer at lower prices. I'd only pay a lot more if the scent actually attracted a guy to come up to me and ask me out. Like some magical love potion ha. If not, I've been stocking up on Juicy Gold which seems to appeal to all
There are lots of mass appealing niche scents and some are even affordable! You just gotta sample and find them. The Theodoris Kalotinis fragrances (just as one example) are $45 and are pretty well liked by everyone. Teo Cabanel, Navitus, Henry Rose…all niche houses that are easily liked and not ridiculously priced.
If you are just after smelling good and appealing and not looking for anything too unique - designer fragrances will totally fit the bill for your needs! I get that. Personally, while I also love to smell good, I also consider fragrance to be an experience and a journey and I want to smell different and unique fragrances as I go - niche fragrances are more likely to take risks and go off in a different direction. So I love it all - designer and niche. 🥰 I think Cat made a great point as well - there are a lot of mass appealing fragrances in the niche world as well that are similarly priced to designer fragrances (Great recommendations Cat, thank you for that!) I remember trying wild vanilla orchid a few years ago and it just really reminded me of decadence and aura. 🤷♀️ Not the same, but it's a vibe.
