That wiring on that plug is unreal, I am surprised that anything worked!

I can imagine the office areas of shops, guest houses and takeaways etc are the most chaotic. Wiring everywhere, plugs into extensions trailing under things, tangled up, damaged appliances and equipment they are still using, wires coming out of plugs, I can just picture it. They won't be bothered about it being tidy and certainly won't notice if any cables are becoming damaged etc because they are more interested in the day to day running of the business.

Hiya, What do you do in those situations when as you have shown, you cant do a full visual inspection? Do you still tag them as passed but write in a report that visual was unable to be performed ? If the appliance is not tagged because you cant carry out the visual, have you lost customers who just expect it to be tagged. Cheers.

Hi there, I would just do as much as a visual inspection as I possibly can and note what you could and couldn’t do on the paperwork. Sometimes conditions are as such in the video where it is physically impossible or unsafe to the tester to conduct a full test and you would recommend to the customer that a full inspection should be carried out in due course

How many items do you get done on a typical day out of interest?

All depends on the setting. Sometimes barely 50 if working on tools or sites such as in the video. Other sites I may get 250 done in a 11/12 hr day

@@caterhampattesting yeah that understandable. I've just started doing it and I've got the Megger PAT420 but I'm finding it quite a bulk to take around everywhere, what do you use?
