I mean, it has potential, but it has the same problem as the Bog arc.. It's sloooow-paced, and it doesn't emphasize what made Kaiji so special in the first place.

But the game in itself wasn't what this was all about. What was more important was the psychological aspect, strategic thinkings... And the season 3 is full of it. Not to mention the big twist in the middle of the arc. Of course there was cheating, but like in every Kaiji arc. (since there's never fairness xD)

We will never see future Kaiji content animated because people will not only get filtered by the art style but addition to an entire season being dedicated to one game where people sit on their ass for Mahjong for most of it. It is so painful.
Well they did a pretty good job capturing what happens in part 3 in these 5 Minutes. But i understand you, the plot takes way too long to pick up, only getting interesting once Kazuya enters and Kaiji essentially having to bet with his life. For a season 3 to really be interesting to watch it would need to capture way more, like season 1 had the espoir, Brave man Road and E-Card. The best it could do with a season would be to do 17 Steps, and then the Salvation game. We would sadly never see One Poker, which is my favorite Kaiji Gamble. Maybe once Fukumoto finishes Part 6 there could be hope for Animated Kaiji content.
Why did they change Kaiji's winning tile? In the manga, it was the white dragon that was played that won him the game. It doesn't make sense for it to be any other tile considering how his trick was set up.

Guys the reason there was no Kaiji season 3 was mostly cause there wasn't enough material from the manga to warrant a season 3, now that the current arc of the manga is almost done, the whole season can be about Kazuya Hyoudou. Which would be 3 novels worth of content. Which is probably why they're droping a OVA to get people's attention and hold us over. From this alone we know the 17 steps is mostly done way back in 2014. Season 3 will happen.
Well, The savior game isn't as long as other parts in Kaiji and the 17 steps start up before the game itself could quite literally take one episode if they do it correctly, I could see both parts taking around 5-7 each, making one-card poker take up most of the arc. Remember that Kaiji season one manage to put a lot in it's first season with it's great pacing. Season 2 they add a lot more padding and a legit an entire episode dedicated recaping everything (which won't be necessary how anime TV works now and days with streaming). Kaiji Season 3 would have to defiantly plan out every episode so it can go in a smooth pace. A lot of the longer points in kaiji can go by fast because unlike an action anime, dialog moves by fast in motion. It should be fine seeing the results of padding season 2 out very well and season 1 being smooth as hell jumping from game to game.
I can't believe I'm finding out about this just now. This was fucking phenomenal and those were just clips. God, I pray Madhouse does a Season 3, even if none of the staff is the same.
Godlike soundtrack as always, i loved the use Dark Organs. Even though i would LOVE to watch Kaiji play again i don't want to see him getting involved with the underworld again, it's the reason i didn't read the manga all this time.
Damn I’m just catching up on Kaiji (in the middle of one poker hen currently)... glad to have this at least if we never end up getting a S3. On the other hand, the animation’s great and the ost for this seriously slaps (especially around the four minute mark), I wish we had more than five minutes lol

The Tonegawa spin-off manga is not at all well known in the west compared to Kaiji, yet it got an adaptation and even an English dub! So I hold onto hope that they will do it...eventually.

Guys the reason there was no Kaiji season 3 was mostly cause there wasn't enough material from the manga to warrant a season 3, now that the current arc of the manga is almost done, the whole season can be about Kazuya Hyoudou. Which would be 3 novels worth of content. Which is probably why they're droping a OVA to get people's attention and hold us over. From this alone we know the 17 steps is mostly done way back in 2014. Season 3 will happen.
That's a whole lot of wishful thinking.
Well, The savior game isn't as long as other parts in Kaiji and the 17 steps start up before the game itself could quite literally take one episode if they do it correctly, I could see both parts taking around 5-7 each, making one-card poker take up most of the arc. Remember that Kaiji season one manage to put a lot in it's first season with it's great pacing. Season 2 they add a lot more padding and a legit an entire episode dedicated recaping everything (which won't be necessary how anime TV works now and days with streaming). Kaiji Season 3 would have to defiantly plan out every episode so it can go in a smooth pace. A lot of the longer points in kaiji can go by fast because unlike an action anime, dialog moves by fast in motion. It should be fine seeing the results of padding season 2 out very well and season 1 being smooth as hell jumping from game to game.

Godlike soundtrack as always, i loved the use Dark Organs. Even though i would LOVE to watch Kaiji play again i don't want to see him getting involved with the underworld again, it's the reason i didn't read the manga all this time.

Damn I’m just catching up on Kaiji (in the middle of one poker hen currently)... glad to have this at least if we never end up getting a S3. On the other hand, the animation’s great and the ost for this seriously slaps (especially around the four minute mark), I wish we had more than five minutes lol

@@looniemoonie5955 The fact that they animated the Tonegawa spin off gives me hope that they will animate a S3 for Kaiji in time. The Tonegawa spin-off manga is not at all well known in the west compared to Kaiji, yet it got an adaptation and even an English dub!
So I hold onto hope that they will do it...eventually.
