  • This is the most ambitious video to date. In anticipation of this evenings Lamentations service (the funeral service of Christ), "Give me the Stranger" is chanted during the procession with the Epitaphios around the church. The composer, Chadi Karam, has very eloquently set the text to music and I have done my best to remain respectful to the ethos of the marrying of the text to the music that is so central to byzantine chant. Thank you as usual to my brother-in-law, Oleksa Lozowchuk, for his patience in the engineering process.

I listened to this video several times during Holy Week and the 50 days after Pascha. Thank you to the author.

This is one of the most haunting, beautiful things I have ever heard. The words of the chant and music of the cello fit together so well. Thank you for this.

Very beautifully arranged! The tempo fits the cello perfectly, while also being great for learning the melody for singing!

And to think these events occurred. What awaits us? What shall we receive when we meet Him Face to Face...."This Stranger"? Oh Awesome Mystery and Wonder I fear I will be unworthy.

This is very beautiful! Do you, perhaps, have the notes with the words? I would love to sing it. Thank you
