    It's hard to love the F80 series M3/M4 when you hear the sound of an S65!

    Magnificent engine, last of it’s kind. Fast enough, perfect balance and fun to drive! Faster means not always more fun.

    First and last V8 m3, would this m3 price go up in the Future?

    I don't which is more impressive - the fact that it can downshift from 7th to 2nd in a split second, or the fact that it can do that while carrying a shopping trolley at the back...LOL

    This engine derived from the s85 m5 mother. Both are crazy and have pure power and sound . We love bmw because they have this cars. Who care about the new m3/5?!?! with stupid turbos

      the s85, ergo the s65, was also developed from formula 1 influences at the time of BMW sauber. Wonderful engines.

    NA, high RPM, Individual Throttle Bodies, classic 6MT or flawless DCT, old school hydraulics, RWD with M diff,
    this will definitely be a timeless classic, true M car...E90 M3
    don't even compare it to a tuned 335i with Mitsubishi turbo in F8X M3/M4...

      VERY high RPM! Higher than M5 V10! 8400 rpm!

    On this and e60 m5 there was big speedo error. Owners of this cars thought that they are driving 330+ at max speed, while gps show 300-305. Same at 280, real speed is 252-253. Great noise, great engines, but imprecisely speedo...

    • @gtboard
      @gtboard  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      But wintertyres made the error even larger as well :/

    Sometimes I hope BMW M go back to their roots. Eventually... how far do you want cars to get? Like computer graphics, eventually you can't go further. Go back to making cars fun! Naturally aspirated.

      technology is the future, but I get it...times change, old people dont!

    • @stubones
      @stubones 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Umar Shareef you think cars like this are their roots? The company has been been around for decades.Wake up, we dont live in Forza Horizon. Technology advances not regresses and regulations get stricter and stricter. All manufacturers are packing their cars full of tech and you want Bmw to go back to 2007? If you want old school, go look at car ads and search for a V8 M3, see one you like, buy it. Don’t expect Bmw to regress because delusion keyboard warriors get nostalgic.

    • @Zeczam
      @Zeczam 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Too-Gq-For-You sure, but are turbos with 'active sound' necessary? I like tech, but not to the point where I'm having to listen to fake sound.

    • @Too-Gq-For-You
      @Too-Gq-For-You 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zeczam if you are educated on the active sound feature, then you would know you can easily turn that feature off. Active sound has nothing to do with the DCT.

    Great performing, but hardly the most reliable M3 engine.

    • @gtboard
      @gtboard  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, the rod bearign issue? Wasnt that the M3 E46 engines demise? :/

    • @jaeshim8261
      @jaeshim8261 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      lol u obviously got no experience with M engines... u ever heard of vanos issue? timing chain issue? smg issues? Rod bearing has been an issue since E39 M5 era, and there's a permanent fix with better clearance bearings now. Compared to E39, E46, E60, E9X's S65 has been the most reliable M engine ever built. Oh, don't even start comparing M engines to VW, RS, AMG and Porsche. I'd rather take an S65 engine + permanent repair using better bearings and drive 200K miles than worrying about carbon buildup + clogging every 15K miles in DI VAGs, gaskets, electronics and head bolts roasting AMG engines or cylinder scratch causing $40~50K dollar engines in porsche

      I mean - the rod bearing issue is very well documented. It is a factory flaw.

    • @TeejYT
      @TeejYT 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is very reliable, it’s just the rod bearings that scare people. Which you can get replace, and as stated before ‘factory flaw’! Throttle actuators can be sorted for a cheap price. Other than that the engines are bulletproof

      hope you have some extra $$$ laying around you will need to replace the oem brakes after 2 track days. even with those slotted, vented oem brakes. good for daily, bad for track unless you upgrade to some wilwood's #TrustMeISeentIt
