I love your videos man but could you post up to date videos because it is spring right now and i have only been fishing for bass since last summer so i dont know how to fish in the spring.
This was late fall and we were looking for reactionary bites ffrom these bass in heavy weeds; traditional methods can work, but we wanted to fish faster and locate the aggressive bass quicker by covering more water in a shorter amount of time and get reaction strikes from these bass; hair jigs can be fished many ways, but this technique is deadly on all game fish in all conditions
straight braid, these fish are feeding in thick weed and the straight braid allows me to snap the jig thru the weeds quicker and cover water faster, in search of the aggressive fish
Good video!!! I start winter fishing with bear hair jigs in January and my setup I go with the 7'6" medium light rod with 4lb line I can get away with the light line till early April then I can't land them.
Hi Karl, I have a sonar question. I run a lowrance hook 7x. I split my screen 3 ways: chart-sonar-downscan. 95% of the time, the sonar arch shows up as a bright white or very distinguishable dot or blot on the downscan. Occasionally though, I will see a pretty pronounced arch on the sonar, but when i check to confirm on the downscan, I can JUST BARELY make out a confirmation dot or blot. My downscan palate is blue/white, and when this happens, there's just barely a contrast that corresponds to the very pronounced 2d arch. it's more of a dim off white or grey contrast. I've fished them and pulled up fish, so i know they are fish. I'm just wondering if you know what or why this is happening? Perhaps the fish is upside down, and the echo is of the fish's belly??? Or maybe it moved after being in the 2d cone and just barely made it through the downscan cone??? Or maybe my transducer is at a slight angle that effects the downscan???? Thanks in advance. I understand it, but to be honest the folks at Lowrance would be a lot more experienced in answering your question as they deal with this stuff on a daily basis.

is this ripping technique the best way to fish hair jigs? are they effective fished other ways?

Do you just go straight braid?

Does this technic work well on lakes without weeds ?
weeds are a very important piece of the puzzle, contain bait fish and in turn attract bass
