If Terrance would’ve stayed on, the War Machine spinoff could’ve been a real blockbuster because Howard is more of a lead character than Don Cheadle.
I agree something was missing in Ironman 2 for me. I did not like they replaced him at all. Robert Downey Jr was a plague before iron man could not even be bonded as he was a druggie. Howard got him his part in IM1 then downey went silent in helping him stay on with same pay as he had in IM2.
@@Physics072With Terrence Howard as War Machine, it could’ve had a lot of potential. Cheadle is a decent supporting actor but he doesn’t have the appeal of someone like Howard with more street cred, better looks and enough charisma to have carried his own franchise like that. Guaranteed if Howard stayed on there would’ve been more demand to do at least one stand alone movie with him in the lead.
@@ridgerunners I agree 100 percent. I liked Howard more than I realized and did notice he was gone in part 2. I was like who is this new guy? Nooo come on. Not having him made 2 and 3 far worse of an experience for me. And yes there would have been more demand. I wish he would have been able to compromise on part 1 fees because after that his stock would have gone up where they could not get rid of him. Shame on Robert Downey Jr. for not standing up for him, what a weasel.

Cheadle is the better actor but Howard is more charismatic and the better Rhodey.
For sure Terrance Howard was better. I missed him in IM2 it cheapen it for me. I did not realize it was due t chicken downy not sticking up for the guy that got him hired for IM1.

No, the story was over with and it showed how far he came from being Iron Man in 2008 the first movie to sacrficing his life in Endgame in 2019 with an iconic final line.

No, I think he left before Disney watered down the franchise. The original Iron Man movie was more adult friendly than when Disney took over with The Avengers in 2012. Tony Stark who have not gotten away with getting a piece of Vanity Fair in a Disney Movie.

He’s not all that. The movies did great without him.
Yeah, but he was the better Rhodey. He had a chemistry with RDJ on screen that Cheadle could never touch. When Cheadle's Rhodey almosr died in Civil War, I didn't care. RDJ and Howard had better chemistry just like Falcon, Captain America, and Bucky did or Thor and Hawk or Natasha and Clint or Natasha and Steve. Cheadle didn't push boundaries like Howard did. Hence, why he still gets a paycheck for paying Rhodey even though the story ran its course in Endgame and there is no point in Rhodey since Iron Man is dead.
