    I figured out that your beaver sizes are as follows:
    Little Beaver - year old
    Big beaver - 2 year old
    Blanket Beaver - really big beaver
    Big blanket - really really big beaver
    Titanic - Ginormous beaver in the 70 pound range
    LOL. Love your videos Sir, thank you for taking the time to share them with us!

    Sleep Apnea, that's a tough one. I've been sleeping with a full face mask since June 2007. In all that time, I've never had a night of restful sleep. That said, I'd never want to go back to how it was before the CPAP. Have you ever looked into the Inspire" device for sleep apnea? I have "complex" sleep apnea, so Inspire isn't an option for me.

    I look forward to your videos everyday, great stuff!! I know you've used a lot of different traps over the years. Could you do a show over the brands you've used and what are some things you like and don't like about each brand. Traps you'd like to try in the future? Also, thoughts about the RBGs?

    I have sleep apnea as well and you should check out the brand headwear I use. It would allow you to grow your beard no problem. You only have to shave just above your mustache at the base of your nose so it can seal. It’s call Dreamwear. It has a nasal cushion instead of the big mask plus it attaches to the hose at the top of your head which allows you to rollover without breaking the seal on the mask. It’s much more comfortable that the mask you have now.

    So is there a detriment to using extra long drowners? I have a trap shy beaver that won't go near a 330, I didn't have any misses so I'm guessing it's an older one with some experience. Only place it's regularly active I can find is pretty shallow for about 15 feet then starts getting waist deep.
    A 25 foot slide cable is about the only thing I can think of. I have 3 days left in the season. Any reason not to try?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  ปีที่แล้ว

      I know some people that use 20ft drowning rods and they work well

    I had a miss on a lodge on a trout ... bigger-than-a-stream-smaller-than-a-river ... waterway. Lodge, huge dam. Had one on a castor set, and a miss in the run. Came back the next day after resetting, and I had the other beaver in the run. Might be the same one!

  • @marktheo1563

    They might be saving it for several reasons. 1.) To climb it as a look out station,I've seen beaver & wood chucks up in trees & even shot them out of them. 2.) They are very intelligent & master builders & construction works & are using the living roots which do not rot away to hold things together. Chances are it is a very old colony that has been around for ever & passed down knowledge. People should never under estimate the intelligence of wildlife. I try not to. For instance ,let's drop some highly educated humans off in those elements & conditions with their degrees & see if they can make it without freezing,starving or becoming prey?

    How late in the season do you run? From North Dakota here and with the week of sub zero temps Im thinking the ice may be too thick now.

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ice over an active runway will still be very thin regardless of the temps but we just got 18" of snow. It'll be tough to trap until spring

    Why do you push snow back in the hole ? Do. Are how effective is a 220 for beaver. What are they used for someone gave me a 110. 220. 330. Old. I don’t know what kind they r

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The beavers are not uses to seeing that light above the run and can get spooky. A 220 is not a good beaver trap. It's just to small. 330.is where it's at

      In addition to blocking light, the snow helps insulate the water from freezing the trap in. I've caught beaver in 220's but they just aren't the trap for the job, they're an otter trap, a 280 or 330 is a better bet

    I love the ugly weather for trapping nobody’s out and about to see me on private lands I have permission on ! Never fails a nice day every freaking neighbor is standing on the porch yelling I’m on private land … and of course I must stop back up yell I have permission then it turns into names and such and 30 mins later I’m on my way to check traps and then the land owner shows up lol and he must apologize for his nosey neighbors ! But you always wanna be curtious in case they have issues and would like some animals trapped ! Ugh 😑 😂!
