What if I'm not interested on going to a jury duty?? I care less about whatever they are talking about.. How can i avoid it and never do jury duty.. I'm not trying to help the corrupted system on anything..
Simple. Never respond to the letter. Don’t even fill out the questionnaire when you get the summons or anything. They just assume it was lost in mail or never got to you in time for one reason or another and don’t care since there is no proof.
Finally, someone with common sense. I absolutely, positively, 1000 percent do NOT want to be on a jury., I do not make much money and I do not have health insurance. I can't go to an MD to get a medical excuse. I know I have anxiety. I have a hard time focusing. These numbnuts want medical documentation. That assumes a person has healthcare. I'm a law abiding citizen. I've never committed a crime. It's very ironic that this process makes me feel like I'm the criminal if I don't answer the summons. The "it's your "patriotic duty" angle doesn't hold water with me. I'm an immigrant from Italy who came as a baby., I had no say in it. I was a permanent resident alien for decades. I became a citizen only because a college roommate dragged me. He was a marine and thought it was such a big deal to be a citizen. I personally never had any interest in becoming a citizen because as a permanent resident alien I had all the privileges I needed or wanted except that I couldn't vote. I never vote, so I don't care about not having that "right". And people like me should not vote. My vote should not cancel out the vote of a well-informed citizen. Another irony is that nobody is forcing me to vote. Yet, I'm being forced to respond to a jury summons and if I don't, then I am the criminal. I could get fined or get jail time simply because of failing to respond to a jury summons when I haven't even had a speeding ticket and I'm approaching retirement age! I am pissed off! I should be able to just check a box that says "I don't want to". Use professional jurors who are educated and trained to be jurors. "Jury of your peers"? Are you serious? Most of your peers are morons who are easily manipulated (the "all vaccines are safe and effective" drones).
I resent the process - you want me to drop what i have for you or you will jail me.. the summons says- it does not matter what your job is.. so you dont care about me -- F the court
The police don't arrest these days ,so the fact that they managed to get arrested is a miracle Let alone have enough evidence to go to court. My view, you're the accused in court , of course you are guilty
For many decades I lived in a town on the boarder of two districts. I also had a PO box, which was not in the district where I lived. (less than 1/4 mile away) I would get a jury notice and do an address correction to the other side and be excused for 3 years. The questions were based on "mailing address" (one district) and "home location" (the other district) and I only answered one each time. This went on for over 30 years.
I got a summon for next week but I'm just worried about the experience since I had an anxiety attack my 1st time. They had to clear out the courtroom from all potential jurors & brought in medics. My most embarrassing moment. ever.
Ugh I recently received a notice for jury duty and they also sent me a form saying I have to fill it out like a qualification questionnaire form I’ve never had to do this before I’m so blown these people want to try and fine me if I don’t fill it out like you can’t just interrupt someone’s life and pay them $15 wtf?

I recently moved just a couple of blocks over the county line and I immediately got my first jury summons in my new county residence. Unfortunately I don't have a car and the location of the courthouse would take me a few hours and three to four transfers one way just to get there. I contacted the office of jury commissioner, wrote a letter telling them about the transportation hardship, and the response was tough toe jam, I'm not getting out of this, so they sent me a second jury summons. I have to somehow come hell or high water make it to that courthouse, and the judge don't care how I'll do it. Even if I had a car and license it would still take about an hour to get there from my location and that's without traffic.
I want to know how to get out of it as soon as you receive the letter. And how would they even know if you received the letter? It it just regular mail? USPS is not very reliable.
The judge spends his life studying the law. How does it make sense that 12 people that don't know anything about the law decide the verdict. The judge is more qualified to decide the verdict.
I’ve got out of jury duty by telling the judge my stepdad was convicted of a crime I believe he didn’t commit. (True). I will never do jury duty. I’ve been summoned 5 times. I know people who never get summoned. Lucky bastards. I think nowadays you can just say you’re a trump supporter and they’ll scratch you.
I think it often depends on the county or city you live in. You have a higher chance at getting a summons if you live in a populated city that has more crime. It also depends on how long you have to be available. For instance a summons could say you need to be in call and available for the entire week while another city summons says you must be available and on call for half the week. If you only have to serve half a week being on call, then more summons has to be issued to cover the remaining days of that week. It also depends how many cases they have, judges, how many potential jurors get striked. It would be an interesting process if I ever got to be in the jury box of the 12 people. However, if it's for a serious crime, I'd worry that the defendant or family could try to locate my information and try to hurt me if they don't like the verdict or outcome. I have heard of people trying to go after judges. Scary.
Not only can you tell the judge that you believe in your right to jury nullification to strike down unconstitutional and unreasonable statutes and laws, but you can also tell the judge that you are well aware that the so called criminal case is actually commercial and the named defendant is an estate. Then you can instruct the judge that you expect the DA and the court to produce the exculpatory evidence of the CUSIP and court bond in accordance to Brady v Maryland and the unclean hands doctrine section 31:17. You expect the judge to honor the remedy under Perry v United States and HJR 192, PL 73-10, codified at 31 USC 5118(d)(2) to set off, settle, and discharge the liabilities in accordance to 31 CFR 203, 31 CFR 363.6, and 28 USC 2041. "Sovereignty resides in the people". Once the judge as the fiduciary discharges the liabilities for the court bond, the court no longer has subject matter jurisdiction and the case is dismissed. If the judge balks at his legal and fiduciary responsibility, make sure to bring and IRS Form 56 with you to remind him that you as a juror can report him to the IRS and Treasury Department for tax evasion if he doesn't perform by using Form 3949A and Form 211. Your job as a juror is to judge the law and the facts, so make them produce all the evidence that they are withholding from you on purpose. What the court is doing by creating and selling the securities that are funded by the defendant's estate legacy account is securities fraud under 18 USC 472 and was never authorized by congress or the DOJ under the Omnibus Crime Control Act.
A person would also not be an ACCEPTABLE juror if they are not willing to be guided by the judge and/or the law. There are some laws that I believe are bad or stupid laws. I would not be willing to find a person guilty of breaking those laws even if it was obvious that they had done so.
If you can't make jury duty voluntary make it you make what you miss from work. After all everyone else involved in the trial gets paid and I'm not talking 9 dollars a day and having to pay for parking.
I have no fundamental opposition to serving on a jury. However there a number reasons, and I’ve been lucky that way. I have come into conflict both with a federal court, and a local judge I felt were far beyond their authority. Not selected, notified, etc, I was mailed an extensive questionnaire as a private citizen….purely for their convenience. I simply threw it in the garbage, considering it an abuse. Answering questions by the lawyers in a case while standing for jury duty is legitimate……Outside the courtroom I do not consider myself under the judge’s jurisdiction. I was threatened by the federal judge several times. “If you fail to answer you will be forced to come to the court house (over 100 miles), and answer”. No proof that I got the message, such as certified. I never responded. Had it been a jury notice, I would have been obligated to appear like any citizen. They gave up fortunately. I do not consider answering questions just for their convenience an obligation, but an invasion of privacy. The local judge sent the local sheriff to my door (long time friend), who informed me I could answer their BS questions there or sitting in jail. A gross abuse of power in my view. Unfortunately I simply cannot afford to stand up to them. Ask me when I’ve appeared for jury duty. Is there anything giving a judge this apparently random power outside a court case?
I also received the same thing a questionnaire as well as a jury duty notice then they sent me another letter three days later saying I must fill it out or I will be fined $1000 dollars and jail time . This is pure harassment and abuse of power. Having to take time off to sit in court for something that has nothing to do with you and you can’t even back down from it smh
I am an attorney and the conclusion I have reached is that jury trials should be limited. The Constitution requires them--if the defendant wants one--in a criminal case involving jail time. However, in my view it is a mistake to have them in most civil cases. For example, very few people really want to be jurors in a typical automobile accident case involving a personal injury. If they are forced to serve I generally see a pattern where they try to get the deliberations over with ASAP without sufficient regard to the facts in the case. A typical default position is to award as little compensation as they can to the Plaintiff if they find for him/her. In my view, the system should resolve such cases other than through jury trials. Arbitration exists on some level in virtually every state in the country. I would support expanding this process and making it difficult for these cases to reach the stage of an actual jury trial. Doing so would also reduce the burden on the taxpayers who must pay for a judge and other expenses when these cases go to court. Making people serve on juries may still be necessary in some cases. However, it should be limited and restricted as much as possible.

I did it today, and was out of there in 20 minutes. Otherwise have fun supporting our corrupt criminal justice system which is literally punishing you for simply existing. How do I get this Jury Questionnaire on line? Is there an age limit? I am 92, wear hearing aids but still have some difficulty understanding the words. Also limited walking ability. Really wanted to be on a jury...when I was younger!
Good God this is very very simple. You can get out of a criminal jury selection with one sentence. I don't need a law degree or have over 100 jury trials to know this. When talking in open court during selection state that, "I am a firm believer in jury nullification". You might even add in that you are a practicing member of the fully informed jury association(FIJA).. but even better is to be quiet, get on the jury, and practice jury nullification when it is needed.
How do you cancel jury duty if you have mental disabilities like ADD, Aspergers which is high functioning autism or OCD that makes things extremely stressful and hard for you to understand communication in long court cases and cannot drive or find rides to get there due to these stressful symptoms? I developed to adult hood late in life from my aspergers and my Parents have been handling everything for me. I still have problems today. My main problem is my anxiety disorder, OCD and it gives me social anxiety and fears of messing up in communication since I don't understand everything well in adulthood and have trouble focusing or paying attention due to my ADD attention deficit disorder. People have gotten mad at me for these disabilities in the past and I am terrible with being on time for things. I move slower than most people too. I feel I am not a good choice for jury duty. I feel very uncomfortable with this job and wish not to be a problem to others so I need to know how to cancel with disabilities.
The court or attorneys generally will ask if you have any conditions that would make service difficult. Even if they don't, I would ask for an opportunity to let the court know, which you can request to do privately if you don't want to talk about it in front of everyone.
I think on the form, at least in my state/county it asks in one of the questions, do you have any underlying conditions where you won't be able to serve. Then if you check that box, then you will need a letter from your doctor stating your disability and why you can't serve. Then it's up to the judge or whoever is in charge to excuse it. I wouldn't think they'd question it and then excuse you from having to show up. Then a couple weeks later you would receive a letter or something in communication verifying your excused from service. Otherwise, you have to show up and often times you have to go through the entire process. Fortunately the one time I had jury duty, I was on call for two days and when I called each day, I wasn't needed. But it still causes me a lot of stress. I didn't want to have to drop everything that I was doing at work just to drive down and report to jury duty to sit there for several hours.
About 15 years ago I reported for jury duty. For me, jury duty was an excusal from work at a job I hated, so I was eager to get picked. (I also felt I would make a good & fair juror.) When I had to show the bailiff my summons, I quietly mentioned to him that I would like to get selected & would be happy to serve for as long as I was needed. Shortly afterward, I was excused. I was never interviewed by any lawyers or a judge. Although I cannot prove it, I swear that bailiff rubber stamped me as “unfit” (or whatever terminology they use). I guess going there & telling them you’re excited about jury service gives off insane vibes. LOL!
you can also just shave a swasti ka into your hair, you'll be out before you've signed the attendance form, throw a hat on and you can have it shaved out before breakfast
Usually we hear in Voir Dire … "me no speak good English" and then after being excused " let's go to the Taco Truck around the corner. But hey... let's get you excused from any future Jury Duty because of your criminal history. (Contempt) YUP!!!
You're an attorney? So, do you think it makes sense that a person is NOT forced to vote, which is also a "patriotic duty", but is forced to respond to a summons or be made a criminal? If you don't have enough jurors then start using professional jurors. Hire people. Make it their job. If you want "diversity" in the jury pool then get that from hiring diverse jurors. Train them, educate them. People would still be getting "a jury of their peers", but they'd also be getting people who are far more committed than random people. This entire process is idiotic! law abiding citizens who simply want to be left alone shouldn't be forced to appear at court as if they are the ones who committed the crime or face possible jail time! I got a jury summons this morning and it has completely ruined my day. I don't want to do it, just like I don't want to vote, should be a good enough reason. I shouldn't need a medical excuse or any other reason.

@@varghesesummersettpllc7161 Get a Dr's letter send it in with the summons and ask to be excused/
About 15 years ago I reported for jury duty. For me, jury duty was an excusal from work at a job I hated, so I was eager to get picked. (I also felt I would make a good & fair juror.)
When I had to show the bailiff my summons, I quietly mentioned to him that I would like to get selected & would be happy to serve for as long as I was needed.
LOL!
I hope you are telling 100% truth
Is a waist of time and communisms mixed.
Or what if you say "jury nullification. I want my own layer before I answer these questions"
The only reason I wouldn't want to do it is because I am a sole proprietor. I am legit biased because I always listen to my gut over logic.
What if you are severely mentally ill,I hear voices and see things noone else sees I can't be a juryer
I'm just going to write a deferment note like I've done in the past.
But did u end up still having to go?
you can also just shave a swasti ka into your hair, you'll be out before you've signed the attendance form, throw a hat on and you can have it shaved out before breakfast
Thet are in the dock as the accussed , of course they are guilty
Its not like it's easy to do
I just throw it in the trash.
Well, if you're dead, you probably won't have to serve jury duty.
I told them I hated all races and ladies. They never called me back
It’s not important you started wrong
Can I just say I’m racist ?
Yes
Usually we hear in Voir Dire … "me no speak good English" and then after being excused " let's go to the Taco Truck around the corner. As a lawyer I am confident that you will not squirm your way out of a wet paper bag,,, but Oh, Let's Sue the paper bag company umm... Just because. But hey... let's get you excused from any future Jury Duty because of your criminal history.
And so another... Doing your Civic Duty and living in the greatest most powerful nation is such a a hassle for you. I have done many contempt and would be happy to facilitate yours. Just step in line!!! In the mean time would be happy to make arrangements for a one way ticket for you to any where, ??? @@FM-gv7sb
