Ive been working for about a year to get things off the ground. its been painfully slow. Zero real estate folks are interested in Drone shots or the ones that are have some drone company under contract. I have been working steadily on taking great shots of my local cities and tagging the city, community or "revitalize " facebook pages. I live in an extremely small town but some of my pictures manage up to 10,000+ views. People love my photographs so much so the cities will use them in their even advertising without asking, tagging me as the photographer. They have even gone so far as to get other drone photographers to copy my shot bypassing me altogether. I dont how to feel about it. Any advice on this sort of topic? Should I stop tagging these cities in my photos if they just take them? Or should I welcome the exposure?

@@DronePulse when I started all I did was drone photography and it was really difficult to get people just to use me for that. A few realtors that used me kindly told me that if i didn’t get into real estate photography as well they would have to find someone else so I learned and branched into that. If you’re trying to get into doing just drone stuff with your city then I would suggest attending a few chamber events and seeing if anyone from the city is active and build that relationship so they know who you are. I wouldn’t stop tagging cause at this point if they want to steal your photos they know where to find them. I would attend city events as well and try to find out who runs the social media and start building that relationship. Just don’t threaten any action against them. If you’re in a small area you could cut off a good relationship before it starts. The positive is that you know they like your work and the current problem you have to solve is how to get close to the people who just need to find out who you are. Hope this helps!

@@DronePulse I checked it out and the Utah video was cool. I would recommend too that if you travel a lot, try to add footage for multiple b roll sites like motion array and story blocks. I worked with a wedding photographer the other day who said he hired besides to just help with the wedding but he also needed some b-roll of the downtown we were in and there was none on story blocks. If something is really popular in your area you should add some footage to these sites and others and see if there are any bites!
