First: I have to shout out to my supporters. I appreciate the patience and support of everyone who follows and throws their backing into this channel.
In this most recent installment, we begin to explore the Random Dungeon Generator from Appendix A of the DMG.
We'll be taking some sample characters we've created earlier and see how they roll.
Thanks to all my supporters. No... YOU are the real heroes!

I’ve been using this generator for a megadungeon I have been working on. I switch between this, and some of the tables in OSRIC, which are slightly different.

I've used the random dungeon generator when the group deviated from the prepared encounters. They never knew anything was amiss. I loved it.

I appreciate the support. Comments are always welcome.
I will have to revisit the battle and continue it on a little further, I made a counting error on the Orcs and they wouldn't have had one of the archers.
      Totally changes the battle.

this part of the dmg is a great test bed as you say; a friend of mine used it a lot at one time. I do personally think you were being hard on yourself, looking at the party numbers you are at about half the required numbers so may be only 4 orc's, which in turn would require a reaction when the first is dropped by a slingshot.....
(my own thoughts on the numbers is; "you can always add a second wave" if the players are getting it too easy....)
Good to see some new content too.

      Thanks.
Time is the most valuable of resources, I really don't know how others can punch out weekly content.
I'm happy that folks stick around for the slick presentations.
Technically, there should have been 7 orcs, and maybe scaled down to about 5. Hey, this is 1st edition. It gets messy, real fast.
      Thanks for the comment.

Everyone should have a copy of the book. As a resource, its value can't be measured.

I’ve been threatening to bind my own copies of the core three for years from the PDFs.

    The number of orcs encountered is 7 - 12 (d6+6). You rolled a 1 for a total of 1+ 6 = 7 orcs not 8.

As soon as I saw the opening line of this it dawned on me that I miscalculated.
      🤣
Oh well, the Players wouldn't have known anything else, so as long as you don't tell them, I won't. 😇
