My 3 song reaction to catherine howard merlin the magician and life on mars by @RickWakemanOfficial #rickwakeman #catherinehoward #merlinthemagician #lifeonmars #reaction #progressiverock #classicalmusic
Life on Mars was a David Bowie original that Rick played on in the studio. After playing that song in the studio, Rick went to a pub to meet mates. He told them that he just recorded the best song that he will ever play on. On the day that Bowie died Rick went to a BBC radio studio to reminisce about his time with Bowie over the years. Just before drive time the DJ’s asked Rick to play Life on Mars for the memories of Bowie. All over England commuters arrived at their destinations, but would not turn off their cars until Rick completed the song. That has led to all of the solo acoustic piano pieces that he now does. My Strabs / Wakeman collaboration for you to react to would be from Just a Collection of Antiques and Curious. Temperament of Mind is a solo acoustic piano medley. Where Is This Dream Of Your Youth? has Rick playing organ through guitar effect pedals.
Was just watching an older reaction of yours, that being Bathory’s A Fine Day to Die, and noticed you loved it! I seen you didn’t post any more reactions to that band, if you are still interested in hearing more, you should definitely consider “call from the grave” or “enter the eternal fire.” Those are masterpieces of songs by the band and I actually like them way more than most of the blood fire death album.
@ awesome!! Love the channel btw! But ya those two songs would be good but really anything from their first 3 albums is always interesting to see what people think. Also I really think Enter The Eternal Fire might be the single most influential song for black metal’s future because there’s always countless songs I can point to that I can say “I sure know where that’s from.” Timeless classic!
Rick Wakeman THE FINGERS. THE MASTER. FOREVER YES❣️❣️❣️🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹👍😎
