My headcanon for SH Tails is that he was actually just as normal as regular Tails before getting paired with Sonic. However Sega kidnaps him and does a few experiments on him, driving the thought of him being best friends with Sonic permanently into his brain

It's a nice idea, but those who watched the animation know that Tails was obsessed with Sonic to the point of insanity, hence why most of the fans call him "Insanitails"

FLASHBACK: Tails and Sonic were childhood friends and just doin their thing as per usual (normal T & S)
REALITY: But Tails starts to get jealous of the day, when he noticed that Sonic was hanging out with Knuckles, Shadow, and everyone else. Tails goes insane and *explains why Tails is Sonic's one and only friend* (Secret History T & S)
Tails and sonic are ok, they just ran off after seeing histories tails/sonic.
