I love these catch basins too! we have 11 of them in our backyard they work great and the riser pipe does too! Thanks for the helpful tips Chuck!!! One other thing you can do if your pipe is a little too low and the basin sticks about 2 inches or less too high you can cut the upper lip an inch or so and the lid still snaps right on.

Aloha Chuck! I’m wondering if I could run a riser for my pop up. I need about 3ft of rise. Coming off of 200ft of pipe at 1% slope. Would the pop up emitter still work with a 3 ft rise?

Question: is there a catch basin on the market where the inlet is lower than the outlet for drainage water to flow to front of house????????To save your back from digging a deep trench as you get to front of house. In this manner for 150ft of digging i can install one every x-amount of feet, saving on digging?

Thanks for the videos. Very helpful. I installed two catch basins behind my house as part of a drain system where my gutters also hook in. The only thing is the connections leak. I look online and it says these are not water tight connections. So we had about 2" of rain the other day, and sure enough below the catch basins is a pool of water (I hadn't backfilled yet because I wanted to see whats going on). Since this is carrying water away from my drains, I was wondering if the leakage will be a problem. Otherwise I may take the basins out and just run the solid corrugated drain pipe. The drain does slope away and does a decent job of moving the water, but still big puddles of leakage under the basin. Thank you.

What exactly are you adding the catch basin too? What drain was there prior to you snapping the catch onto it ?

Thanks Chuck your videos are much appreciated. I'm looking at running several (3) 4" PVC drain pipes into a catch basin then having that water flow into a 6" drain pipe that immediately drops into an abyss, 400 feet long run as it drops down a steep grade 100 feet then begins to flow further down the slope and runs off a cliff into the ocean so it starts down a 70 degree slope for 120', then 60 to 40 for 100 feet where it runs for another 200 feet at 30 degree run. The drain pipe will have to sit above the ground there's no way to bury it. I'm thinking PVC pipe is best for the slope but so many joints where 1 long pipe could do the whole run but securing that much pipe needs a lot of strength?

I've never seen you use an atrium grate. Any reason to not use one? I've got a basin that is clogged by leaves in the fall, and going to throw an atrium grate. In this video the flat grate is going to get clogged by the bark over time, and this is where I'd think an atrium grate would be ideal. Just curious your thoughts, or anyone else who has experience.

Hi Ryan! We have several videos showing the atrium great. They work great. Even in this video in that mulch an atrium great would work. I also show a video in a mulch driveway with a regular great. Water washes right through it.
      Thanks for the comment

@@appledrains perfect! Thanks for the quick response! I'm gonna order one up now. Also, you should start building your own line of materials, I really can't believe that NDS has so much of the market with little competition, at least in Oregon.
