I've said this in other reactions. I see that in many of his MVs, regardless of the storyline, he is always making a distinction between the created idol V and the creative human Kim Taehyung. Yes, we are so proud that he makes music that fits his own taste, knowing that it's in a niche genre and not pop. And yet, he continues to surpass expectations with charts and popularity, right? As for his acting, he really is a step above because as you said, he does not need big, dramatic expressions to convey the emotions. It's the subtle movements in his face that make the most impact. Reminds me of Jim Caviezel.

Yes, he also faced himself in Friends (at the end when both versions of himself were sitting on the bed). He cries when he realizes he isn’t real, nor was the girl. The scar on his neck matches the one on the female…making him realize he was made by the sculpture. I believe there are two Vs represented. The idol who isn’t free, and has obligations to his company and fans, and the real V who wants freedom, true love, laughter and simplicity. Heartbreaking. Beautifully, beautifully done!

The story is from Greek mythology. Pygmalion, played by V in this narrative, was a Cypriot sculptor who, in Ovid's Matamorphoses, devoted himself solely to his art. One day, he sculpted a beautiful woman out of ivory alabaster. She was so perfect that he fell in love with her. On Aphrodite's festival day, Pygmalion quietly wished for a bride with the living likeness of his "ivory girl." Aphrodite granted him that wish, and the sculpture became human. This is where V's story and Ovid's story diverge. In Ovid's narrative, Pygmalion marries the sculpture-turned-human. In V's narrative, there is no happy ending -- only the realization that artistic perfection takes human form only in the fictive world of mythology.
It's a masterpiece for sure.
