This song reminds me of my dad. We would sit on the couch and he would put lee evens stand up on, my dad would be in knots just by the way Lee would prance about on stage. I've never seen my dad laugh so much at comedy, was pretty amazing. Ill never forget those times.
I feel like Lee Evans doesn't get nearly enough credit. He was (when performing, I know he isn't dead!) a generational talent. One of the greatest showmen this or any country has produced and maybe a bit of a throw back - an all around entertainer in a way you don't really see much any more (maybe Bo Burnham?). And, by all accounts a lovely man whose been married to his wife since they were 17. Incredible.
His songwriting abilities are phenomenal and his voice is as well every song he's ever done has a story and you feel it this song in particular I really take to heart I feel every line
For instance if you had absolutely no knowledge that he was a comedian and saw this you would think he was a musical artist which he is but primarily he wasn't but I always wanted him to release an album of all his songs
I rewatched all my Lee Evans DVD'S a few evenings ago, and since the moment Roadrunner ended, this song's been playing itself over and over in my mind. One of his greatest pieces, for sure. Beautifully written and performed. Happy-go-lucky (from live in Scotland) is another bittersweet classic of his. What an inspiration this man is.
A huge thank you to Lee Evans for sharing his gifts with us for so many years. This man helped soothe my troubled soul so many times with his comedy, his singing, and his wonderful acting. Evans is a terrific songwriter. He never ceases to evoke a response from me with his heartfelt lyrics. Whether he ever returns publicly or not, I will always support his choice. We miss him and his personal style very much, but are forever grateful for the time he gave us. Wishing him & his family the very best.
I saw this live in Birmingham and this blew me away. A really moving and powerful way to close an awesome show. I’ve sung the chorus in the shower for years since then. Lee Evans is a genius.!
This made me cry every time I watched it when I was younger; I’m now approaching 25 and feel even if it was for ONE DAY, Lee Evans going back on stage would make the world a better place. He was a funny man ♥️
One of my fave Lee Evans songs this really does touch the soul made me teary first time I heard it I was one of the lucky ones to see him live at 02 for his final monsters tour he's so brilliant on dvd but its so much more of an experience seeing him live a great comedian and an inspirational guy a legend
A very good friend of mine passed away recently and he loved Lee Evans as we all do, and this song certailnly made me remember the laughs we had rip Anthony Hewlett
Such wonderful comic all ages like fine wine and he is clearly a talented musician, I like to think this song is his mind deciding if he should retire, I’m sad he did but pleased we have his work on dvds and now his channel.
I am extremely amazed by such wonderful, amazing, beautiful man who could make you laugh and cry at the same time! God bless you, my friend I wish you’d come back and entertain us more. What a great blessing!
Hands down the best man to ever perform!! Great at everything he does! Also very down to earth and not like the rest who are stuck up rich people. Love him ❤️
i remember having the dvd for this and listening to this at the end. Was the only one i had watched all the way through was quality good times we wont get another Lee Evans it's a shame.
Happy times I was at the roadrunner tour come on lee come back even if it's just a one off tour anything for your fans please please please we need ya the world needs ya 👍
Theres very few comedians, who if they came back to the limelight, after years out could pack out the biggest stadiums in the uk, night after night - lee evans is one of those comedians. Peter kay being another.
A beautiful song about his career, on his final ever live show. Thanking his fans but explaining all the things he’s missed in his life because of his job and ultimately one of the reasons he’s retired! All he was to people was a “funny man” but never a family man
such a great example of love for his wife to give it all up so as to give and spend time with them as a family. We can all still laugh along with him any time of day and night right hear on you tube and wise DVD purchases or even read his book too
Lee we love you this song is brilliant It’s a bit scary tho because it seems like a suicide note Try to take it easy please lee Have a beer we all want you back but don’t force yourself into this Sincerely A random stranger on the internet

A beautiful song about his career, on his final ever live show. Thanking his fans but explaining all the things he’s missed in his life because of his job and ultimately one of the reasons he’s retired! All he was to people was a “funny man” but never a family man
