Good morning miss Pam, good morning outpost peeps. love when you play with paper bags, I think I have some felt, thanks for another fabulous idea! Have a wonderful weekend, hugs and blessings ❤🤗🦋🌸
Linda as a tatter I was glad you recognized the beautiful tatting Pam used. Tatting is very easy if you have a great teacher like I did. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done!!!❤️
Loving this o e! Yeah another new junk journal! Cultus Lake BC it is beautiful SUNSHINE today! 15 Celsius right now at 7:30 am going up to a high of 24 Celsius! Heading out to the lake later with the grandsons! Whooooop! ❤️📕🇨🇦
That paper bag to faux leather video sucked me into Journal making during the pandemic. Now I've got a file cabinet full of dyed papers and other delights. Pam's paper bags are a gateway drug....in the best sense.
Not only do we get great junk journal ideas, but funny stories too!! Fun times Pam!! Hello Sunshine in the rain! Thanks for the pupdate. Keep getting that chicken!!😄😄
Hi Miss Pam. You crack me up - she's telling her sister she's glad she didn't marry that guy! I like the idea of doing a small journal for a sense of accomplishment. I always feel like things have to be epic... and then I either don't finish or I don't even begin!
Pam I just Love how you retold the story to accommodate the error in picture placement! Lol!! I have discovered that I especially like my journals - even the minis - to tell a story! Really love that sewn spine! Great make today, ma'am!
Love this! Think I will try, even though I dont sew, stamps make it look like I do. Thanks for laughter, the best medicine! Smooches to Sunshine!Have a great weekend!
Good afternoon everyone 😊 I have seen the felt at thrift store and thought that it wouldn't work...boy how wrong I was! Thank you, Pam, for proving me wrong. Now I can work with felt. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend and blessed Memorial Day.
I just love anything you do using paper bag material. I covered a credenza top with your faux leather process. It came out beautiful. Now watching you make this journal out of a paper bag & felt is inspiring. Thank You
I was just wondering have you seen my ruler, I lost it in my junk journaling mess. Oh ok I found it. Like the ideas you always give us. Wanted to try felt. Getting ideas for Christmas. Thanks Pam!
Thanks Pam, I just might try to use the sewing machine for the first time on this cover. But my nerves say don't.... Have a great weekend everyone. Happy crafting. Sending love and big hugs Sherry ❤
I’ve been looking for a unique cover idea to make my very artistic sister a journal for Christmas. I’m scared to death, but Pam gives me courage. Love the bit with the tatting “this probably took some poor woman three hours and I just boop it away”. Just a riot (and I need that to get thru this project)!❤
Good morning Pam🤗 I really need to jump on this paper bag repurpose because I had a stack of them and I love all the ideas you come up with. Hope your week is going good, have a fabulous day! 💕Hugs
In Alberta, we have had temperatures in mid 20’s and as high as 30. July weather. Very dry and lots of fires. Love your journals. You always make me laugh.
I made your journal to look like suede with a paper bag and it turned out great! It was also the first journal I ever made. I love the idea and it came out awesome!
New to you… I’m 3 vids in. I am glad I found your channel Pam! I really enjoy watching your videos. What a fantastic journal cover. I need to break out my dusty sewing machine now.
Howdy Pam and SunBun! Im impressed with the journal made from a paper bag and felt. Its going to be beautiful and cannot wait to watch it come together. Have a fantastic weekend!!!
No snow today on the Vermont/Canada boarder today... its suspose to be 80! however most of us have waited to put our gardens in until this weekend because we have had some chilly nights.... May 17th it was spitting snow ... hope we are done now!
i lice in Alberta, Canada, and im out of the snow Yurrah!! LOL A VERY UNIQUE JOURNL COVER THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING you could of done some stamping on the cover your such a busy women tyvm for sharing your ideas with us :)
You asked about snow... No snow here in central NY but nights are still in the 30's. When I was living in Colorado we did get a freak snow storm in June.
So cute! I recently made a journal like this. I decorated the inside and outside separately before gluing/sewing them together to avoid stitching to show where I didn't want it to on the opposite side of the journal cover.
Goood morning Pam and fellow Paper Outpostians! Hoping this finds everyone well and having some kind of crafty fun time this weekend =D Talk about good timing, Pam! I'm currently debating the structure of my next journal and decided on fabric, soft-cover style. You using felt in this project just gave me the idea to use felt (or similar) between the outer & inner cover fabrics, maybe with a layer of crinkly paper tucked in there, too, just cus I want that crinkly sound whenever I bend the cover. (What can I say... it's a delightful sound!) I did a quick (as in 2-3 hour) search last night on youtube on fabric covers without using a sewing machine... quickly discovered my idea of no-sew and everyone else's is... not EXACTLY the same. 😂 For me, it's no sewing at all with a machine - i dunno why I struggle with the idea that binding the signatures in is a form of sewing. Yet every single "no sew video" involved not "sewing" in the signatures! 😂 THAT part isn't a problem. Its the MACHINE. I have one. It's buried deep in storage (for now), but even if it was easy to get to, I'm not quite ready to tackle taming that particular beast. (We haven't gotten along from day 1 lol) So... Can these be done "just" with glues? Fabrifix/fabritac/3-in-one and maybe a good craft glue (like art glitter, bearly arts)? I know that, overall, any that actually ARE sewn will be sturdier and last a lot longer (before falling apart) as opposed to the glue-only method, but while I hear people say yes, you can do this "glue-only", i can't find any videos where the sewing machine isn't used! 😢 I just want to see a few variations of fabric-y covers not involving a sewing machine, so I can (hopefully) avoid any pitfalls. I am totally digging how this felt journal is looking so far (not quite halfway through). I bet it feels pretty amazing, too. Ok, off to finish watching and letting my brain mull over my project in the background 😊❤ This ended up SO CUTE! I loved the idea of the button trim, but I think it would look better in a "layered fabric collage" style cover, with more "bohemian" elements like that incorporated. The tatting was the perfect minimalistic enhancement for this adorable cover! Please tell us all that we'll get to watch this journal's progress as it's made, too? ❤
As always, a great idea! Pam no worries today is Saturday! We did the chat video yesterday! I know it’s probably hard to keep up when you video so much! I feel the JJ that you did today will be our next one to work on! Have a great week-end everyone! Have a wonderful Memorial Day celebration! Tyfs!
I just found this video and living the concept! I also think if you left it big it would make an awesome photo album! I was more on team Bohemian with that button fringy lace... gorgeous 😍 I know it was a year ago, but happen to remember where you got it?? Love your channel!!! ❤❤
You have mentioned pickle ball in other videos too. What is pickle ball? (Just in case you don't see my question here I will post it to other videos as well.)
Geez!! I haven't seen a paper bag in 20 years at least! It's a bring your own bag deal EVERYWHERE! Now the most recent change is bring your own plastic container for your fruits (unless you want grapes all over your bag!! ) LOL! I even carry tissue paper in case I buy something breakable like glasses or plates. Walmart and the Dollorama stores don't even have cashiers.....it's stand in line and scan your stuff....you have to put your byob on the scale and it is supposed to read what you are putting in...except when you put in something light like sewing needles it screams error, making you feel like you are stealing it!!! It's debit or credit card only so I am sure it will be coming to a store near you soon!! YUK!!! After all that, they don't even give you a discount but they do ask you if you would like to donate to charity! Are u kidding me!? I like your idea of using a bag but I guess I will take a bunch of book pages instead....circulars are a thing of the past along with junk mail....everything is done electronically and you only run into problems if your computer is no longer working or their system crashed or they are doing repairs on the network or you lose electricity! We are living in modern times. Great video!
I live off the island of Montreal Quebec (Canada) . It is a somewhat rural town with a lot of history so there is always something interesting to check out. There are a lot of farms (but quickly disappearing) mostly vegetable, cows & horses. We also have an old college/university dating back to 1892!! Lots of history!! (previously a monestary) and more schools than stores! Most of the people are young families although they have built 2 new retirement homes in the area. Never a dull moment and always something to do with a mayor that is young and very avant garde and the first to try new things!!! ie composting recycling eco park et al, agricultural school
I am so laughing. I know how to tat with both a shuttle and a needle, which is easier. It actually grows faster than crochet, but is dead dull. I am not kidding. The only needle work more painful is pettipoint.
I love the idea of sewing the spine I would of never thought of it. Have you ever tried to glue two regular copy pages together and took book pages and glue them to one side and made a cover for it? Just rip the book pages and randomly place. @TreasureBooks is where I got the idea.
Good morning miss Pam, good morning outpost peeps. love when you play with paper bags, I think I have some felt, thanks for another fabulous idea! Have a wonderful weekend, hugs and blessings ❤🤗🦋🌸
I really appreciate your creativity with everyday materials. No waste. And it all turns out more beautiful than before.
You mean I need flowers 🌸 to get the guy? Who knew that, not me? 😂 Thanks Pam! 💗

Love tatting. Wish I knew how to do it!

i want to try it with a pretty gift bag!
What a great idea! I always save gift bags, as I like to recycle - what better way than when I'm crafting!
I acquired a paper bag yesterday and kept it to craft with, how serendipitous. This will be my fun for the day. ☺️
I’ve been looking for a unique cover idea to make my very artistic sister a journal for Christmas. I’m scared to death, but Pam gives me courage. Great idea❤
In Canada they been getting alot of rain in Nova Scotia Canada
💙
Lol, I so appreciate you, Pam! Every time you said, “ All right” I said “all right” because as long as we keep saying it, it will be- right?
I want to do this with a tough plastic bag.
I just found this video and living the concept! I also think if you left it big it would make an awesome photo album! I was more on team Bohemian with that button fringy lace... gorgeous 😍 I know it was a year ago, but happen to remember where you got it?? Love your channel!!! ❤❤
Where did you get the trim with the buttons?
Hi Pam... I was trying to tell you you were putting it on the wrong side. Hahahahaha 😅😊.
Me, too! I was saying to the video, “Pam, that picture is for the other inside page!” 😂
~🙏💙🙏~
Love it and an awesome puppy! We have a Maltese! How old is he?
I thought it funny that it said Sally on your paper bag😂
I was telling you to flip the bag over before you glue but you didn't hear me.... It's a good thing though, the tatting is beautiful on there.
Fabric on inside you said pam
You have mentioned pickle ball in other videos too. What is pickle ball? (Just in case you don't see my question here I will post it to other videos as well.)
Your best bet might be to look it up online. It would be too complicated to explain here.
