Instead of being a mere human, the Listener is elf or half elf; and by giving them the ring, it offers opportunity to become the finest warrior amongst the elves. There for when the time is right and the title is theirs, they simply return and offer their own head; just to spare their comrades and to give this dragon what he wants.

Great ASMR. I like the dragon character your playing so far. But, I do think it's wired and ironic he talks about elves killing his "mate" like an animal when he him-self keeps using an emotionless animalistic term used for when two animals breed on her.
