There are at least a few earlier ones. He used a pencil as a little character on 9/12/2008; a stuffed monkey on 9/18/2008, and a real puppet, a grey tiger, on 10/3/2008. Don't know if these were the first or not. Yes, I watch too much of this show, if that's possible.
