I spent many a nights when I was a young college student in the early 1960's, listening to my Terry Gibbs vinyl's. Years later, I was fortunate enough to actually meet the spark plug of all those early Terry Gibbs recordings, the great Al Porcino. It was a Woody Herman gig in the 1970's at a long-gone ballroom in Indian Lake, in western Ohio. I spent a couple of the band's breaks talking with Al. He was very gracious that I had all of those Terry Gibbs records, and actually would even remember him. I'll never forget that evening and meeting Al Porcino.
Beautiful !
