These programmes and presenters were a special moment to watch on a Sunday evening, we never dreamt that we could ever go on a holiday like that even though we had the money..it just seemed too frightening...too far...then my father was hit by ill health and the opportunity vanished overnight. Nowadays and for the past 33 years we have roamed many, many places and stayed in beautiful hotels...it came later but at least it happened. These old programmes remain a special moment...a sharply nostalgic look at times I remember well and people sadly missed. I think “Holiday 20” could work again maybe on a different level but wonderful to use as ideas or simply dreams.🙂🙂🙂
Take me back to this time in my life. As I get older life seems to get ever tougher, not the other way round. Surely a Holiday programme is as relevant today as it was back then. TV now is just full of utter crap, the lowest common denominator.
I wonder if those people who paid £2m to go on holiday on the moon in 2010 ever got their money back, or if the operator had long since gone out of business? Also at the end when Cliff says in another 25 years Jill would be stood where he was and celebrating 50 years of Holiday, it's sad to think she would never make 2019 (and for that matter neither would the programme).
Sad to realise that Jill Dando & Anne Gregg are no longer with us. Raise a glass to Cliff Michelmore who is still very much alive. To me; 1994 seems like yesterday. But then - I'm rather old (or so it often feels)!
rip cliff you were a voice and face throughout my child and young years
What a professional - and reassuring presenter!

Very fond memories of places I couldn't go at the time. Thank you
I would have been 23 when this was broadcast in 1994 (makes me feel old as I am now nearly 54). Jill Dando and Cliff Michelmore I remember very well.
Good old Uncle Cliff is joined by Jill in this edition and my memories of him were mostly childhood ones.

Looking at this it's almost inconceivable that Jill was murdered only five years later
It's just tragic!
The circumstances and the motive for murdering Jill stinks as she only in her thirties at the time. Cliff outlived her and survived into his nineties.

Wow. That's the Castle by Love as the intro theme
Wow that club med in Tuscany looked amazing in the 60's!
Was a big fan of this program from years back..
20:40 - I'm not sure you'd get away with this these days!
Cliff Michelmore. RIP.
Anne Gregg was the best presenter with Cliff Mitchelmore back in the day
Brilliant
poor Jill Dando, still no justice
To think the BBC axed this and replaced it with The One show😱
Probably due to budget. BBC just can’t afford to film abroad nowadays.
Are they filming in Brighton?
wow look at joan magic
