Yes indeed, it is a very positive development, not only for the environment, but also for farmers who can access irrigation irrespective of electricity or oil. Low-maintance solutions like these can make an improvement in providing water to rural areas.
Question about number of turns for the hose. I gather that each turn builds up more pressure. Is there a trade-off with amount of water pumped or the resistance of the wheel to turning? Lifting more water, because of more turns, but maybe, not sure, the water on one side might be balanced by water on the other side of the wheel for other turns? So if we wanted to pump up 5 to 10 feet from a creek, would we be working against ourselves if we had more hose turns than necessary, optimizing on water volume. Thanks.

The thing that attracted me to you pump is that it looked like you have built quite a bit of them and hopefully figured out the best construction and optimization. Many spiral pumps may be for drinking water or low volume use. For irrigation, the volume of water being pushed is very important as well as the possibility of scaling with multiple pumps.
What is the dieameter of the pipe used. How many fact is the pipe on each side Does there are two water intake for water on each side Kindly send me your email
It's not a "Barsha" pump, it's a Wirtz Pump. It was invented in 1746 by H Andreas Wirtz in Zurich. I'm glad it's being useful in Indonesia, but give credit where it is due. Changing the name and pretending that it is a new innovation is just sad.
Old technologies can never die, just improved upon, because they were invented before electricity!

This spiral pump was designed and built in Alberta over 20 years ago. It was also logged on the IP office but not followed through.
You wouldn't be able to patent it anyway since the concept is as old as Archimedes.

What kind of flow rate are you getting from the Barsha pump? Is it available in the U.S.?
You can get up to 0.5 litres per second (40,000 litres per day). For US one can import from the Netherlands directly.
